Correction -- it was $7.99. The girl was looking at something called Doo Grow Oil when she quoted the price. She said that works really well, too. I still bought the WGHO. We'll see.

I've been using WGHO for about three months and I'm hooked. It's the best oil I've ever used and that includes Vatika and Amla Oil. WGHO has the big three in it: Coconut, jojoba and olive oils. No mineral oil which I hate and lots of good minerals. It's makes no less a dramatic change as a chemical relaxer if used consistently. As far as making my hair grow - probably, but I've been so distracted by the difference in softness and shine that I haven't kept track. Oh and one more thing, I use both the white and yellow bottles. The heavier (and smellier) oil in the white bottle I use on my scalp and the lighter oil in the yellow bottle on my hair itself.

@ Estiscurls: I'm glad to hear the oil's great for other reasons, too. So I've been seeing a lot of posts about using olive oil or EVOO. Do you use olive oil or is WGHO the only oil you need?

I really like it too. I bought it in july, I've use it pretty consistently and my bottle is just about empty. I don't think it sped up my growth but it definately helped with thickening. I use it to seal my ends as well.

I've tried using that stuff before. I applied it right after I had washed my hair and after I applied it I put my hair in a bun, BIG MISTAKE!!! Maybe I put too much in some places because when I took my bun out some of my hair was stuck to my SCALP! It was like I just got a perm and my hair got burned or something. It was the MOST painful thing EVER to take out. So ladies BE CAREFUL!!

My white/green wgo ran out finally so I decided to buy the wild grow light, which is the yellow bottle. I like it even better than original. It isn't as heavy which I'm really happy about.

Hey Ladies.. I recently BC, i've been using this oil and have noticed the thickness in my hair compared to being told my hair is "fine" when permed.

After reading all the posts on yesterday I went out and purchased the light oil. I will see how it goes. I have a small patch where my hair was pulled out from wearing micros earlier this year. I need something desperately that will work so I don't have to depend on headbands everyday.

Post by over40fab 3rd December 2010, 7:04 pm

@butterfly_sandy - I am getting the Oil this evening after work because of the reviews I've read. I've worn my natural hair going on 1 year next month and it's grown to the top of my shoulder. I want to see how much growth I'll have next year using the Wild Grow Hair Oil.

To save my pillowcases and satin cap, does anybody know if it's okay to put on a plastic cap under my satin cap to seal in the smell?!?!?!? confused

I don't see why that plastic cap would be a problem if you don't mind HEARING it!!! LOL That's the only thing that would bother me. Unless you have your satin cap or scarf on snugly.

Ok...so MAYBE I will try this one. I think this may be the one my mom used on my hair back in the day and if I remember correctly it did work!!! I just didn't wanna pay $7.99 for it. But after looking online the cheapest I found was on amazon.com but when you throw in the shipping it's even more. So maybe I'll give this a go!! After that, no more products!!!!! silent

OMG!!!! Why did my boyfriend tell me that he liked the smell of this stuff in my hair!?!?!? I actually put the plastic cap on under my satin cap, but was taking it off at 3am. The smell does die down after a few hours and I only had minor scalp itch the next day. I think I'll use it for the next six months and see what I get.
I'm glad to know the smell doesn't bother "Him"!

Post by HealthyHairLover 7th December 2010, 1:32 pm

Hi Ladies! ~ I don’t remember how I stumbled across this forum yesterday but I’m really glad I did. I read ALL your comments about Wild Grow hair oil yesterday and immediately went to Sally’s after work to make my purchase. They only had the light so I got that and will use it until they get the other in stock. The smell isn’t too bad nor does it last long and I am very sensitive to smells. I hope I feel the same way about the other but if the smell is too bad, I will use it at night as some of you have suggested and hope it doesn’t bother me. I plan on using it on my 10 and 2 year old as well. Have any of you used any of the Wild Grow products on a toddler aged child? If so, did you encounter any negative problems? Thanks and have a great day. Very Happy

Hi Healthyhairlover!!! Welcome!! Curlynikki is the best site on the web in my opinion!!! well, at least for us curlies!!!! LOL

I haven't bought or used this stuff yet but may buy some after I run out of what I am using now. But I think it is the same stuff my mom used on my hair when I was in Highschoola dn if it is the same stuff I believed that it really did work.

But anyway, I don't know that I would use it on your 2 yr old and if you do, maybe you can dilute it with another oil, like jojoba, coconut or evoo, just so that it's not as strong. afro
