New to Natural (starting today)
Hello Wonderful Ladies,
I am SO glad that I found this site!! I have been thinking about going natural for quite some time but have had my issues about it (acceptance, looking right, how to take care of, etc...). I have officially decided that today is the day to start my natural hair journey. My hair is currently past my shoulders but not quite middle of my back yet (about a couple of inches away). I am used to the length and not ready to chop it off quite yet. So I am looking at what my alternative options are to taking care of my hair while transitioning. My youngest daughter (4 years old) is natural and I am instilling the confidence in her that her hair is beautiful but I need help with taking care of natural hair, as well as transitioning, and products. I am going to spend this weekend immersing myself in all of this knowledge posted here. Thank you for such an awesome site!

Welcome!!
I would start out by looking into what hairstyles I would do when my hair begins to grow out. Twists, braids, weaves, etc. As a current transitioner, when my hair began to grow, I didn't know what to do, or what to use.. anything I had then, shampoo-s, gels, I def can't use now, but you'll work your way there. *don't let ALL the info over whelm you* it's so much out there to know, time your time, and have fun.
