Hey,
Im 2 Months post relaxer & I have been having some difficulty developing a hair care regimen. as of now I co- wash every 3 - 5 days & I wash with a sulfate free shampoo every other weekend.. Any good tips on products I can use?? I also need some ideas on hair styles to wear during transitiong. Ive done several variations of the twist out & braid out, but are these my only options during transition??
Thanks in advance!!

I wash with a sulfate free relaxer every other weekend.. I hope that you meant “shampoo and not relaxer”

Any good tips on products I can use?? It will be trial and error depending on type, texture and porosity of your hair.

I have 4a/b fine textured, porous hair that loves protein. I use Giovanni Products that can be bought at Whole Foods, Target, Walmart, CVS, Pharmaca, and health food stores. Once a week, I use Giovanni Smooth As Silk (SAS) Deeper Moisture Shampoo to poo, SAS Deeper Moisture Conditioner and Reconstructor to DC, SAS Xtreme Protein Infusion or Direct Leave In as my leave in, I set my hair with Giovanni Natural Mousse Hair Styling Foam and/or Giovanni LA Natural Style Gel. I seal with Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie or EVCO or castor oil. During the week, when I need a moisture boost I use Vatika oil and Giovanni Direct Leave In. I use the braid outs, curl outs or Curlformers to style.

I also need some ideas on hair styles to wear during transitioning.

I was a long-term transitioner and during my first year I wore full and partial weaves. During the last three months I blended the two textures with my version of the twist n curl using grey perm rods.

As Naturally Esq mentioned, this is a period of trial and error but don't go overboard with junk. Some cheap finds to consider are: VO5 Moisture Milks conditioners, HE Hello Hydration or Totally Twisted conditioners, Aussie Moist conditioner, Giovanni products, Suave conditioners and my favorite, unrefined shea butter blended with olive/castor oil.
