Dry Hair around hairline

Hello

I am transitioning from relaxed to natural and I will be nine months post on the 12th of this month.
My hair has been behaving well but I have noticed my hair line seems to be dry. I'm not really sure what to do. I co wash and i moisturize and seal. My question is what do i do??

Im 7 months post and my hair is like that too. I'm starting to think it scab hair.

I have the exact same problem. I'm only 5 months post though. I agree that it's scab hair, especially cause the rest of my growth is pretty defined while my hairline is kind of a frizzy mess. I've tried everything in terms of moisturizing and sealing and it hasn't helped that area. So for right now, I'll just let it be.

What are you using on your hair at night? Are you using a satin/slick scarf/bonnet/pillow case?

BTW, you wont know if you have scab hair until you BC.

I use a satin bonnet at night. Most of the time lol. I wear my hair in buns a lot because of my job, could that have some kind of ill effect?

It could be from your bonnet rubbing against your hairline. Even though I use a satin scarf/bonnet, I think it is contributing to some breakage along my fragile hair line. I am making sure I moisture my edges daily with a little water and castor oil.

What are you using to slick your edges down for your buns?

I see, that could be the reason. What should I do instead? i don't really use anything for my buns, I mainly style my hair when it's wet, i use a little olive oil , comb it back and go.

Continue to use your bonnet but give some extra love to your hairline/edges.

Maybe try switching to coconut oil and see how your hair does. It hasnt happened to me but I had read a few people say olive oil dried their hair out.

Where did you get this information from because I would like to read up on it. Everything I've read said it's noticed during transition.
