Best Conditioner for Detangling - All my 4a/4b/4c's
I am looking for a great daily detangling product during my washes in the morning. What would you suggest? What works for you???? Also, I am celebrating my 1st after my BC today but would you suggest me to continue detangling with a pick?
Re: Best Conditioner for Detangling - All my 4a/4b/4c's
To be honest I use my simple Aussie 3 minute miracle as a detangler. I love the slip. It conditions. And I don't get breakage, just a little.

I am going to look into that. Since I am in college that would work just fine. lol Thank you

I'd reccomend 1. Yes to Cucumbers or 2. Aussie Moist. Both have GREAT slip!
hope that helps

Thank you!!! I haven't heard much about the Yes to Cucumbers though ...

Giovanni Direct Leave In turns my 4a/b hair into silky, shinny, curls.

I don't co wash. I leave in Giovanni Direct Leave In:
Once a week, I use Giovanni Smooth As Silk (SAS) Deeper Moisture Shampoo to poo, SAS Deeper Moisture Conditioner and Reconstructor to DC (and detangle) , SAS Xtreme Protein Infusion or Direct Leave In as my leave in (and detangle), I set my hair with Giovanni Natural Mousse Hair Styling Foam and/or Giovanni LA Natural Style Gel. I seal with Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie or EVCO or castor oil and Giovanni Hair Glue. During the week, when I need a moisture boost and when I retwist, I use Vatika oil and Giovanni Direct Leave In as my leave in.

yes it's sold at Target. It's also sold at Ross stores for much cheaper. If you type in "yes to cucumbers" in the search box at the top right you'll se all the threads about it. Its a REALLY good conditioner. I used to SWEAR by Aussi Moist until i found YTC. Aussie is still REALLY good, but i'd pick YTC over it if I had the choice.

I second Aussie Moist and Yes to Cucumbers. I would advise against using a pick to detangle your hair. I would suggest a wide tooth comb. I use a shower comb.

Another note its better to get a cheap conditioner to detangle because alot of conditioner is needed at times.

For a cheap conditioner, I use Suave Rosemary Mint or HE Totally Twisted. I love them and don't feel guilty that I'm using so much of it. I wanna try the "Yes to" line next because I hear real good things about them
Re: Best Conditioner for Detangling - All my 4a/4b/4c's
I have tried the Suave Coconut but I wanted to try something different. I used the Suave Rosemary Mint during my transitioning. I guess it was ok. I will try it again. I haven't heard anything about the HE Totally Twisted yet.

Hello,
My 4b/c likes Yes to Cucumbers and HEHH.
Unfortunately HEHH has been tagged on several websites as a product with not-so-good ingredients.
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/wordsearch.php?query=Hello+Hydration
But - I keep coming back to HEHH. Just bought some today. "If loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right"...
ps: DO NOT TUG TO DETANGLE unless you're really into mid-strand splits and broken hairs all over the sink. I use a shower comb and then a bone comb for fine detangling.

Thank you! I got the YEs to tomatoes because they didn't carry the cucumber one but I will look some other place to find it.
I think I am going to leave my pick alone!!!!
Thank you!!!

The Denman did a number on my hair. I modified mine by removing every other row of teeth, and liked it a little better, but eventually set it aside and will consider using it again once my hair grows longer. Denmans are great for removing shedded hairs, but my texture was too tightly coily to use that thing for detangling.
I only use a plastic pic for lifting the roots if needed. I don't use the metal ones at all.
I try to keep my hair in a "curly fro" ala Lisa Akbari.

I develop more SSKs when my hair is looser or fluffed out.
