Hair plans for the week?? Empty Hair plans for the week??

Post by Kez 20th September 2010, 5:08 am

Hey lovely ladies,

Just thought I would start this post to find out what you all have planned for your hair this week?
Anything new, exciting or a tradition you plan to stick to...?

For me, tonight (Mon) I am going to co-wash hair after my workout (first co-wash ever!), then i am going to braid out and curl with flexi rods as i struggle with keeping my curl for more than 24hrs really on the permed ends with braid-outs. Adding the rods was a tip a few of you suggested - im hoping this works cos if it does, I shall be wearing this style for my wedding anniversary party this coming Sat night, might spice it up with an accessory maybe, but will see how it looks . .wish me luck!

I'll report back tomo on my success...or lack of!

I am going to start using another product line I have. It is called Hairveda. I have a few of their products. I am going to continue with my WnGs. I will likely DC Tuesday night and do a henna gloss Friday. I have a busy Saturday planned.

Hope you the best on your braid out with curled ends.

I plan to wash (shampoo) my hair today or tomorrow. I'm gonna do a protein treatment using Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner. I'm not sure what style I am gonna be wearing this week.

yet another rodset Very Happy The last one I got to last for almost two weeks and didn't have to do much of anything but sport my satin bonnet. Hopefully I get just as lucky this time around.

Post by Kez 21st September 2010, 5:05 am

Hey ladies
How are you all, im up at work, been here an hour already (its Tue 21st - 9am) - i think im ahead maybe time wise??
Well, my hair plans this week were to co-wash and get a good braid out last night, did it, minus the good result . . so despressing.....here are the results and process in my curl street journel if you care to take a look - in fact, it might give you a smile a little (and me now i have calmed down lol!).
I am gutted though, i wont show off and pretend im not! http://www.curlynikki.forumotion.com/the-curl-street-journal-f14/kez-newly-transitioning-pics-included-t6405.htm
My hair is pants to me at the moment (Pay Back!), Transitioning is not fun today!
My hair is getting so soft, which i LOVE but seems to make styles harder to stick!?
Im panicking cos i need a style for my wedding anniversary party Sat night, dont want to look pants and dont want to flat iron hair . . .but I cant wash'n'go for straight ends and apparently i cant wear braid outs how I want them, only success so far is 2strand twists in Bantu Knots - But i get a lot of shrinkage, but 2strand twists didnt work well either - my hair isnt as course as i thought, course sometimes worked well for holiding my styles lol!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! xxxxxx

Hey Kez,

I'm sorry you didnt get the results you desired. I have one more suggestion. Try doing more braids and smaller rods. Hopefully that will yield a tighter curl.

I’m sorry you are frustrated. I think the problem may be too many products. Your hair has been chemically altered to be straight, and your curl pattern is loose/wavy. I think all the products are weighing down your hair. I would suggest the following.

Do not apply products to soaking wet hair

Apply moisturizer to damp hair (can plop using tee shirt, think men’s undershirt until 60% or more dry) in scrunching motion, take ends of hair and push them towards scalp/roots of hair—this promotes clumping

Apply a little oil to ends only then a little curl crème (nothing more)

For tight waves, make more braids and for looser waves, make fewer braids

To help with volume and fullness, pull dry, loose hair to front of head (at forehead with a hair band)—can be done in as few minutes as 15 to overnight. Bend down and scrunch hair some more while upside down.

Check out taren916 on YT, she has big loose curls like you.

Hey Chrslvsbnks,
Thanks for that - I thought that ref products too - but I was hearing/seeing peeps put quite a lot on and thought since i had less success perhaps i needed more, but im in agreeance i dont think it is the case!
I will skip the extra products and see - was so frustrating, but im not being beaten....! Patience, I need to develop it as thats whats led me to going back straight in the past and I dont want to be defeated ha ha!
Ill check out those Vids too, thanks hun xxxxx

Hey girls - Right in attempt to salvage my barnet and find a style i can be sure (or pretty confident at least) will work for party sat night - i have damped my hair a tiny bit and just added some moisturiser (Olive Oil based) and have put into 14 2strand twist bantu knots - so im HOPING, when i wake tomorrow, i have some curl, not bloody rats tails! here's hoping . . so this week - i just want to wear my hair full stop and will be grateful for any curl - from twist or braid out!
I'll let ya know in the morning (well my morning!)
Have nice eves/days/sleeps depending where you are xx

I was feeling lazy this week so I've just been wearing my hardly defined twist-outs pinned back. I like teh loose and wavy texture. Each night I simply apply KCKT finger de-tangle re-twist all over and wear my satin scarf to bed. In the morning i unravel it and pin back/up depending on the way the hair lays. No brush or anything needed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Hey girlies!
Hows everyone?
Ok, so did a dry (well wet hands and sections) 2strand twist bantu knots last night - all i added was Olive Oil Moisturiser since I had a fair bit of prudcut from night before failed braid outs!
I did about 14 twists, slept in them with satin scarf (i have to band mine once knotted and did Bands too tight - ouch to sleep on!!) - but they were a success - really really bouncy springy curls!
I have some pics, unfortunately cant really see the definition as my iPhones not got a flash on it!!
But anyways . . here you go.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I didnt like this, put the headscarf on as I have a fringe (bangs) and it ruins the shape at the moment and I had sooo much shrinkage, about 1/3+ of my length....
SO i put it into a messy french roll at back, kept scarf and left top messy - hte curls are pretty tight just not picking up so well in pics!
Finally, I feel some success again! This works better for than Braids as its my second success, braids, had none really lol! Keep practicing i guess!

Have a fab day ladies xx

Thanks ladies,
I agree as they've worked both times, shme
I detest sleeping in them though...:-(
But if it gets me through transitioning healthily then I'm happy!
Will just keep practicing the braid out in diff ways and sizes!
Thanks for support! Xx
