Winter regimen changes?
What products, techniques, and/or tools are you adding or subtracting from your current regimen in preparation for the winter months?
-Im sticking to protective styles. Usually just two strand twists placed in a bun.
-Little to no heat
-Deep conditioning with aubrey organics rosemary peppermint gpb instead of or before aubrey organics honeysuckle rose
-Wear a silk scarf or bonnet at home.

Re: Winter regimen changes?
Because I just started my transition two months ago, my hair has only grown about 2 inches. So I'm planning on keeping extentions in my hair. Remembering to oil my hair on a weekly basis, deep condition once a week, and keeping my braids in for no longer than 6 weeks. And always sleeping with a silk bonnet or pillow case Although I'm still stuck on what products to use........any ones to recommend? I have a mix of 3c/4a hair if that helps!

My plan is to get individual braids. I never tryed does before. It will really keep my hair protected when the weather becomes dry and cold out.

Re: Winter regimen changes?
I just started my healthy hair care in march so I don'T yet have anything for the winter.
My main style is my puff but I guess I'll have to find something else because I don't think it's good for my ends being exposed like that all the time!
I was thinking of doing braids by myself or getting a sew-in weave
But I'm looking for a curly one such as Solange has..

I kind of want to try shea butter but I want to hear what others have to say b/c I know I'm going to need more moisture in the winter.
Re: Winter regimen changes?
My plan for the winter is for me to:
- Do protective styles, in different ones. (wet two-strand twists, damp/dry two strand twists, maybe some braids)
- Keep the twists moisturized. (a lil' oil every other day or something)
- Deep condition every week.
- Stock up on products.
I want to do this from December to April nonstop (: I hope I see growth or more moisture or something lol.

@ MZ.CICI- shea butter is my best friend...I havent been using it on my hair in the summer because it was too thick and i didnt want to over moisturize my hair but now that winter is coming im definitely going to be using it as a sealant

Re: Winter regimen changes?
This winter, I plan on doing a lot of bunning to keep my ends tucked away. I'm really lazy when it comes to hair styling, but I wanna try bantu knot outs. I usually just wash and go but i'd be sick all the time if I do that in the cold winter air. I also like to wear my hair semi-straight in the fall and winter since it doesn't revert as easily as it does in the humid summer heat so i'll probably do some roller sets and silk wraps. Other than that, my signature pony tail (in my profile pic) has never failed me. As for products, I definately will be bringing the shea butter back out. It helps to keep my hair moisterized in the dry air. I might add a little honey to my deep conditioning sessions.
