I THINK they are all the same. People just have different ways of refering to them. It's originally from senegal, it does resemble a rope, can be kinky, and we are sisters. LOL. HTH.

They are basically the same thing. I think the type of hair used to do senegalese twist is what makes them different from kinky twist.

THANKS! And I think I also figured out that those two you mentioned are done with extensions, and sister twists and rope twists are usually done without extensions. every time I hear about rope/sister twists (beads braids & beyond and happy girl hair), they aren't using extensions. I think I figured them all out. Thank you.

Usually senegalese twists are long, thin, and smooth/shiny. Kinky twists are shorter and have more of a kinky/natural hair texture to them. They can also be thin or thick and still look good. I personally love kinky twists because they are closer to the texture of our hair.

Senegalese and rope twists are the same thing- smooth, with kanekalon type hair
Kinky twists normally with some kind of kinky marley type hair
Sister twists are shorter, normally with softer hair more curly than kinky
