Heat Protectors??
Hey guys! so i know that you guys probably dont straighten ur hair often and i dont either. I have not flat ironed my hair for about 3 months and i kind of want to. but i was wondering what kinds of heat protectors ppl use? and im really scared about losing my curl pattern after straightening cuz i have in the past, i would straighten my hair and the hairs in my fronts especially would stay straight after i washed it!! which was not cute! lol. I appreciate ur help in advance!

I've use grapeseed oil on my daughters hair when I've straightened it. I've done this twice and her hair has reverted back both times. HTH.

Ive heard it is bad to straighten hair with an oil because it fries your hair, is that true?

I did a little research before I settled on using grapeseed oil. It has conflicting reviews as a heat protectant. Some say its okay and others don't. It's hard to find a protectant though that doesn't have cones and other ingredients I try to avoid.

i'm pretty sure that a heat protectant is something that you WANT to have cones in...

I know exactly what you mean! ive always straightened my hair with oils in the past and ever since ive read that it's important to have a heat protector, and not an oil ive been a bit confused.
