Most Embarassing Hair Moment

Most of us have had styles that have been very unflattering or done things that were just plain dumb....confess!

I'll start.
When I was in elementary school (maybe 5th grade) I was curious about hair being flammable. So I took a lighter and learned quickly that hair burns!
Thankfully I had a lot of hair so it was easy to hide. My mother never found out.

Ok....your turn

I tried to smoke when I was a teenager. It was cold and windy outside so I stepped into a store to try to light my cigarette. I lit the cigarette and promptly set my bangs on fire.

Dropping the curling iron.....I think i still have a scar. I'm just glad the one on my forehead went away.

Oh and my ears stay burned from my momma and that doggone pressing comb

My most embarassing moment was probably in middle school. I would pull my hair into a ponytail on top of my head using Jam of course. I would then curl the ends and fan my hair out like a big peacock tail. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Yea, I know! lol

lol, we called it a "fan." Those were the days of that horrid orange curl wax!

Oh yes, yes...I do remember that fan. But we tried to get a little too creative with it and pull down a little chunk on one side in the back and have one lonely Shirley Temple hanging. That was a mess! I lived w/ my grandmother at the time and she would even help me curl it in the back. Awful!

too many to count but once when i was in junior high my hair in front got wet and it was oh no curly[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so i tried to put some gel in my hair and it turned white that i forced my my to press while still wet and burned my bangs. but now i know better and love my curly,kinky hair. The worst style I sported was probably a plaited weave ponytail. LOL and SMH just thinking about it now. This was back in 4th grade, and I did my own hair...my mother didn't know what she was doing. I got a big chunk of the braiding yaki and plaited it into my ponytail, then put those clack-a-ball things at the end. I thought I was so cute with that mess; I'd swing it all around knocking myself in the face with those balls. Geez, why did my parents let me out like that?

My embarrasing hair moment is more recent.....So, I been trying this protective styling thing and bought a bone strait half wig. I probably dont have to type another word......Any way, I got the front all flat ironed and the rest in braids....soon as I hit the door into this lovely humid MS weather, it was a disaster and I had no choice, but to wear it cuz all the rest of my hair was in random braids under the wig. My edges were a curly/puffy/frizzy mess and I had the Pocahontas poppin off in the back. There's not enough gel in the world to blend that atrocity. Needless to say, I won't be revisiting that protective style.

I remember I would put so much product in my hair, and one day I put in a lot AND the girls behind me on the bus decided that was the perfect day to feel my hair! EWWWW! Is all they could say. And all I could do is sit there and blush while my friends laughed at me.

in h.s i got a weave for the yearbook pictures about a week b4 picture day. i had horrible dandruff so i decided to wash my hair. i didnt know u wasnt supposed to wash it like regular hair. it was a tangled mess.
all i could do was brush it into a buffant and make a roll in back. it came out better than i thought.

skip a few years...
i decided to dye my hair and used a color with a yellow base bc i had some type of blonde in.
it didnt take as much, so i waited a week and got another color - but it was a blue base
i had GREEN hair until my beautician cuz corrected it a few weeks later.
i rocked a pony tail with that brown gel to darken up that montronsity.(sp)

Just recently the velcro on my book bag got stuck to my hair- people were looking! I was in the library with a book bag stuck to my head!
