Protective styling question

Since I'm going back to school in a couple of days and won't have the time or energy to take care of my hair properly I've decided to get a wet and wavy sew in. My only question is how to do I properly take care of my hair underneath the sew in so I get proper moisture and growth retention? Thanks in advance!

I've never had a weave, but just prepare your hair by deep conditioning it and putting a lot of moisture in it. Your hair is going to wrapped up for a long time without regular care.
