how long should gel stay in my hair??

ok so I just did my BC on Tuesday and have been doing wash n go's. I use olive oil eco styler gel to define my curls and I think I finally got a grip on how much gel to use..

soo my question is how long should gel sit in your hair?? I've been co-washing every other day because I'm scared the gel may cause my hair to break if it sits any longer..is it ok to let gel sit in your hair for several days (like maybe 3 days) ??

Well I dont think so.

#1 you need a silk/satin scarf or whatever
but
#2 If your hair is in a free flowing style I think your hair would move around at night under your scarf and could be bad with the gel in it.

I think you should wash it out every day or every other day. If it was an up do or something it would not matter.

I didn't know you BC'd! Congrats!

Whenever I use gel I usually wash my hair the next day. Every once in a while I will refresh it with just spritzing some water on it and not wash it. I think it also depends on what you use with the gel. If you're using a good leave in under the gel, then it should be ok to go a day or two without washing it. It also depends on if your using gel everyday or not. I only use gel 3 or 4 times a week.

Congrats on your BC!!! I find myself washing the gel out every other day or when my hair feels "gunky" lol
