looking for a new styling product Empty looking for a new styling product

I recently bought Darcy's Botanicals Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme and it's not bad but i'm not in love with it. It's a creamy, thick consistency which is fine but almost to thick like it's too weighed down with oils. It's fine for smoothing my flyaways on straight hair but on my curly hair not so much. Don't get me wrong I'm still continuing to use it because I don't want to waste my money but I want to look for something else for the future.

In the past I used Cantu and it just didn't agree with my hair after awhile but I did like it's consistency (kinda thick but very creamy/smooth.) I also used the conditioner only method, although it wasn't moisturizing for long-lasting hair i liked the consistency of the HE Hello Hydration I used. So what product or product line should i look into? Qhemet, Karen's, Curl Junkie?? Oh and I was also looking into KimmayTube's leave-in...

Hi curlista ! Have you tried curls souffle its from the curls line. I like it but I have to add some oil to mine otherwise it not moisturizing enough. Its one of my staples . You can use it for wsh and gos and twists. I also like the shea moisture line its available at some target stores, the prices are alot cheaper 9.99 I have heard good things about curl junkie but I havnt tried them.

Thanks Raina, the curls souffle sounds promising. I do want something that can serve multiple purposes (i.e. wash n gos, twists, etc.) like u said. I'll look into it.

I noticed that it has glycerin in it. How does that work for you with the weather changes. I've heard glycerin can make the hair swell when it's humid and cause frizziness. I don't know if that's an issue for you in Ohio but in GA and NC it's definitely an issue lol.

I suggest Curl Junkie Curl Rehab, Curly Q Custard (from Curls kids line, comparable to Curls Souffle but cheaper), Karen's Body Beautiful hair milk, Afroveda's totally twisted Ginger almond butter or Darcy's Botanicals hair milk or leave in conditioner. I have used and love them all. A little bit goes a long way with all of them.

Thanks Chrs, would you say there's a big difference between the curly q custard and curls souffle? Are your results the same?

And o ok thanks Raina, do you use a light leave in? Also, do you think a gel on top would work?

I have been using yes to cucumbers(the conditioner ) as a leave in. Its very light but I havnt used it with the souffle yet.Any light leave in would work.I dont see why you couldnt use a gel over it. if you decide to buy it I hope you like it!

WOW, i just looked at the ingredients for the Curl Souffle and Curly Q Custard and the ingredients are EXACTLY the same except for beeswax in the custard. And they charge $3 more for the souffle, that's amazing to me. Shocked

I love Qhemet's Amla and Olive heavy cream because its very moisturizing. Also Curl Junkie Banana and Hibiscus leave-in is good for twists, and wash n gos. The Curl Junkie Rehab is good also and can be used as a leave-in

I have not tried or do not remember trying the Curls Souffle so I am unable to compare the two. I usually try to stay away from beeswax but it is so far down on the list I did not worry about it.

I asked the company about that, and it's the percentage of the ingredients that differ.

@ blondie, how do you use the elasta QP? Do you use a light leave in with it? I bought it after seeing it on your curl pg,but I only used it twice.

I love this stuff! It never leaves my hair crunchy. I purchased both kinds--one with green, white and black writing on white bottle and one with brown and orange writing on a tube.
