Steamers
So I've been reading about steamers and am intrigued, but could someone tell me the difference between sitting under a steamer and sitting under a hooder dryer with a plastic cap on? Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like almost the same thing to me... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Steamers
I think the moisture the steam with a steamer helps moisture penetrate your hair more. With a hooded dryer, you are getting heat and perhaps the penetration of the product due to the heat. Just my opinion, not related to fact, research or experience.
I will say I have used a plastic bag, wet flannel pillowcase, plastic bag and towel and had pretty darn good results. I did finally invest in a Huetiful tabletop steamer.

Yea what ChrsLvsBks said. Steamers are not intended to dry hair. it moisturizes really well.
And dryers are meant to dry your hair

That Huetiful steamer looks so great! How often do you use it? I may have to invest if the flannel/towel/plastic bag combo doesn't work out...

MopTopMaven recently did a product review on the Huetiful steamer and she gave it two thumbs up. However, my problem is the price which is over $100. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
