ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
Has anybody used apple cider vinegar on their hair? I have been reading a lot about it.

I use an ACV rinse after I shampoo but before I DC. Here is a link to the thread in this website: http://www.curlynikki.forumotion.com/general-f3/baking-soda-rinse-vs-apple-cider-vinegar-rinse-t2695.htm?highlight=apple+cider+vinegar

Yes I use it once a month to get all the gewy gouck out my hair, lol. I have my ACV in a spray bottle in my shower, spray it on my scalp, rinse, use my WEN fig cleanser, rinse, deep condition (leave some in) and add my creams then go.
I don't use a shampoo at all and the ACV and WEN fig gets my scalp and hair super clean without stripping it.

I love ACV rinses, too! I do it either before I shampoo or as a final rinse. Either way, I rinse mine out. My hair feels awesome afterwards! I do it monthly, also.

Lol @ Curlygirly.... change the address huh?
@Embracing.....I'm loving that I can just go in the kitchen and hook up my hair! lol
I've been pondering using ACV..... I need to stop reading all these posts before I have my own Beauty Supply Store up in here!!

Re: ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
i did like a 5 minute research on this before i decided to comment and from what i read ACV seals the cuticle. so quick question : would deep conditioning after ACV rinsing defeat the purpose of the rinse? I want to try this because it might be something to add to my routine, however I just got my hair to a point where it is properly moisturized and i can deep condition bi-weekly without suffering from dryness. so will/can it dry my hair out if i use it as a final rinse (after shampooing and conditioning, but before applying a leave-in) and dont rinse it out of my hair?

Re: ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
^^^In my experience, doing an ACV rinse as a final rinse left my hair feeling strawlike if I left it in. I noticed the last time I did an ACV and rinsed it out, my hair felt so much better and smoother. My hair was so clean. Not a single trace of residue. Even though I diluted it enough, I can't leave ACV on my hair. It feels rough if I do.

okay cool. thanx again CurlsGalore. does it help with definition? i was thinking that flat cuticle= less frizz= better/easier definition

Re: ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
^^^It closes the cuticles and brings the hair back to proper pH balance. ACV has a pH of about 3 or 3.5 because it's acidic. You can use it in your leave i.e. Kimmaytube leave in, or as a final rinse. I find that I do see less frizz and my curls are more defined when wet.
Re: ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
I heard that apple cider vinegar is good for an itchy and dry scalp. My hair is really suffering from dryness and I wanted to try out ACV. Hope it helps!!!

Re: ACV Apple Cider Vinegar
It is very good for your hair, it's acidic ph balance is close to that of our hair and skin, with all the products that we use on our hair and skin, build up is inevitable. Rinsing with ACV will restore the balance and strip the build up. It will make your hair shine, due to it closing cuticle scales making it smoother as well. Your hair and skin will smell like ACV, but should disappear when it is dry.
I use it often and love it.

You can spritz your hair daily, if used daily, I would dilute the vinegar in a spray bottle. Especially if you use a great deal of product.
White vinegar has more pungent odor than Apple Cider. Other than this slight difference, I don't see a problem with either one. Your preference.
