hummmmm.......that doesn't sound stupid. I don't know what your hair type is, but some can use conditioner, and spritz with water and oil as a refresher. However, you may need to use something along with the castor oil (which is one of the heavier oils have you tried jojoba oil?) to help enhance your curls.
I was in WholeFoods back in March and the cashier told me she only used..conditioner and curl activator.
Try checking out YouTube for natural hair washNgo's; you should be able to fine a wealth of information from other naturals that may have a similar hair type as you do.
I use MiraCurl, Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic for my best washNgo's!!
Sorry I'm not more help...but I hope I've sent you in the right direction.

A thick rich creamy moisturizer or conditioner sealed with oil should help. If your hair is porous or really dense, you may want to try adding two moisturizers. I use aloe vera gelly mixed with castor and jojoba oils before adding another moisturizer. Hair is well moisturized (leading to curl definition) and sealed (due to oils). HTH

Re: WASH N GO'S
I usually use curl activator and a tiny bit of gel when I do my wash and go's but by mid day it goes back on being frizzy.
Yesterday I used the eco custard on soaking wet hair right after the shower and it's great!!! One of the lovely ladies came up with the recipe and it works wonders. I'm on second day hair and it still looks fab! lots of definition but A LOT of shrinkage, which is normal for our hair.
You can find the recipe here http://www.curlynikki.forumotion.com/products-f4/eco-custard-t4419.htm?highlight=eco+custard
I would post pictures to show you how mine came out with the eco custard but I don't have my camera anymore.
