Fros for the Fourth of July

Hi Curlies!

I was on a thread the other day, and someone mentioned that they didn't know that July 4th is National Afro Day, so I figured why not start a thread in the forum!!!!

I also found a video with a pretty good technique for picking out a fro. I'm posting all three parts for thoroughness, but you'll be able to get the gist of it from the first two.

I'm looking forward to July 4, and I'm planning on rocking my fro loud and proud!! I'm even wearing a new t-shirt that I ordered to mark the special occaision!

Just thought I'd share with everyone in case you hadn't heard! Make sure you spread the word!

I did a test run on my fro this week!!! I am gonna check out the videos. It's gonna be so funny!! I havent worn a "classic fro" to church since I had a TWA so it's gonna be interesting!! Since the 4th is on Sunday.

I cannot wait!! Hopefully I'll see some other 'fros in San Antonio on the 4th.

You're right! Church should be very interesting, especially since we're planning on going to my hometown church in South Carolina. It's as traditional southern baptist as it gets!!

Oooop2-how did you get the top of your hair to stand up like that? Mine just falls.

i wish my hair would afro. my hair just kinda goes straight (like, blow dried straight) and falls down when picked out my hair would have to be really tangled and dry to look like a fro, which i'm not gonna do bahaha. on july 4th, i'll probs just rock my favorite style: a HUGE braid out

@Karyn-we may have the same type of hair because mine does the same thing.

probably. what's your hair type? i'm pretty sure the majority of my hair is 3c, but i have some 4a spots as well.

I have no idea what my hair type is. I tried reading that whole typing thing but my hair did not fall into any of those categories.

just did some youtube creeping (lol) and your hair looks like it's 3c as well, even though in one of your vids you said your hair doesn't have a defined curl, it looks like that way to me :/ hair typing is weird

I'm type 4a/b, so I don't have any issues maintaining volume w/ my hair.

I will be doing the "FRO" thang on July 4th, too!

We should have a 4th of July "SHOW YOUR FRO" picture thread on here! Now that would be great! I would love to see all of the fro's and how they were achieved. I would be in hair heaven!

My hair will "fro" in the back, but the front just flops over. I'll probably wear a big twist-out or something so I don't look crazy. Gotta love that 3C/4A combo!
