which is better: braids or twist?
next week in getting my hair braided for the first time. thankfully since im a transitioner and my hair is driving me crazy....lol but i want to know, which is better braids or twist? what is really the difference?
whichever i get im pretty sure they are going to be smallish.. something between a kinky twist size and a micro, but definately not as small as a micro.
so which is best and would allow the most stylimg options?

IMO, they are both the same. My daughter's hair is braided, per her request and I will be putting kinky twist in my hair soon. I like that the texture of the twist is more like my hair, but my hair has been braided in the past. The styling options are the same.

Some people think braids put more stress on the hair than twists but I have yet to experience that. Personally I prefer twists because they're quicker and easier to take down.

Yeah, twists are much easier to take out than braids but I see the same stress on my hair with both styles.

Twist are a 100 times easier to take out. I think that has to be less stress on your hair.

I would say get the twists as well. Stay away from micro braids!!! I personally think they are the worse. Yes, they might look nice but it might not be so much nice on your natural hair. If you do decide to get braids, I would suggest getting box braids. Not the ones from back in the day hehe but the ones that are still meduim size and they are loose on the ends. The ladies at the african braid shop will put the ends of the hair in hot water and then the ends will look just like they would with micros.
