It sounds like your hair doesn't absorb oil very well. It may be best your mix your oils with a leave-in or moisturizing product with a thick, creamy consistency. You can try a very light leave-in w/your fave oil and apply it to your hair.

I use my oils to prepoo and deep condition. I also mix it in my shealoe and spritzes. My hair likes oils, but only when it's mixed with something else. I can't apply it straight on my strands, because my hair will be one, big greaseball.

Mine is the same way!! It will only absorb really light oils like Vatika oil. Everything else ... gotta mix it in.

OMG. My hair is like that too. My hair does not absorb it at all. Even when I use it in conjunction with creams or moisturizers I always wonder if it's doing anything.

Oils aren't moisturizers for the hair. The molecules are too big to penetrate the hair shaft. Oils are sealers. Its best to use oils to seal in your moisturizer. The only oil that MIGHT be able to penetrate is coconut oil, but that is rare. So it a best practice to use a water-based moisturizer and then apply your oil to seal in the moisture.

I've used this video as my holy grail...

Is it ok to use plain EVOO that I would cook with or is there another Olive oil that works better?

Curly, Extra Virgin Olive Oil that you find at the grocery store. I find that Trader Joe's is much cheaper that the regular grocery store. If you have a 99cent only store they have a good deal as well.

Great! I usually buy HUGE bottles at Sam's or Costco's so I'll just use what I have. Thanks!
