Working on a wash and go Empty Working on a wash and go

Post by HisBeauty 5th May 2010, 2:57 pm

Hi ladies!

So...I could only hang with the twist/bun challenge for about a week. Since it's starting to warm up I've decided I would try my first wash and go of 2010.

Last summer I wash wash/condition and use either the curls line or mixed chicks leave in to set my hair. I liked the results, so I'm going to stick with those products. However, I plan to try plopping my hair instead of walking around with wet hair on my neck, lol.

Onto my question...do I apply the leave ins before I wrap my hair up or after? and has anyone had great success with this?

Thanks in advance.

wash n goes are my go to! put on the leave in after you plop... if you put it on before then the shirt will soak up the product and you want the product to stay in....

the trick for me is to not plop for TOO long because you want to retain a bit of moisture. By plopping for 5-10 minutes I cut my drying time from 7 hours to 3....

HTH! let me know if you have any other questions!

Plopping is the best thing since sliced bread! I agree with Cassadie, you only need to plop for a short time. I do it for about 5 minutes.

I usually plop after I have applied leave in and styler. I say try both methods and see what works for you. One tip if you apply leave in and style first, ensure you use a little bit of leave in and scrunch/ smush it in to ensure the hair is soaking it up. Apply more if needed. Because if you do not, as cassadie3 wrote, your product will get soaked up.

Plopping is wrapping your hair, usually in a t-shirt to soak up excess
water to cut down on drying time. It works really well, you should try
it. Wash and gos are my go to style and if I plop, I don't have to walk
around with a super soaked wet head for hours.
