Gel or Mousse

I'm currently transitioning, and considering all the styles I might be able to do when I'm all natural and I've noticed that most natural women use gel or gel-like products when they do wash n gos, and I was just wondering if any of you ladies use mousse instead. I guess I just don't really like the thought of coating my entire head in gel, and I'm curious about my options......

I've used Herbal Essences Totally twisted mousse and I liked it. That combined with the conditioner made my curlies pop! But there was a serious crunch and I spent most of the day with my hands in my hair trying to get it out. So idk, But I think I stopped using it because of the ingredients. I have learned how to keep the crunch out of my curls so maybe I will revisit it soon.
