My First Twist Out!!!
Hello Lovelies....
For those of you who do not know, I do NOT like to spend a lot of time on my hair.. Shet up Nubie!!!!
Call me lazy, no maintenance or low maintenance. It's just the way I have always been. Even with long relaxed hair, it was wrap and go..... little to no heat and it was what it was.
So the other day, I did my 1st twist out. Yes, I sat myself down and actually put some work into my hair!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Still trying to figure out what moved me, cuz I sure was not "Inspired" to do it!!!
Anyway, I typically use Noodle Head Poo and Cond, HE Texture My Way for a leave in, Texture My Way Moisturizing Lotion, and Coconut Milk Serum & Noodle Head Anti Frizz Serum to seal.
For my twist out, however, I did it dry with just a spritzing of water to help me manipulate my curls and minimize/prevent any damage. Then I used my version of the Eko Custard recipe I got from Coca Coa Cutie (Thanks girl...... LOVED IT) I used 1/2 C of Eko and 2 tbsp of Castor Oil, EVOO, & My BELOVED Coconut Serum (Crack for my hair!!) each. I mixed the oils in one at a time and then went to work. I let them stay in for a day and a half. The results are below..... My front came out wavy (has a mind of it's own, so I slapped a head band on and kept rolling..... Overall, I had lots of soft, moisturized, touchable curls with great hold and yes....... drum roll please.......................
I would do it again. As a matter of fact I did it it this morning to wear to work tomorrow!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Not bad for my first time, huh??? Let me know what you think..... NOT YOU NUBIE!!!!!

Nubie, you're too funny.
Koily, your curls are beautiful. I may have to try the Eco Custard but I'm not sure about the gel in my hair. Doesn't it leave your hair feeling dry or even looking thirsty?

@KinkyHappyNappy: Check out the info & site below. I'm sure you've seen it before. Hard to find, but I usually can find it at Target or Walmart. If there are 3 bottles on the shelf.... I buy all three. Love it, but hate running out of it and searching for another merchant to sell it.

I'm not an "ingredients" hound, so I really can not tell yo what is in it. I stumbled upon it and by trial and error, found out that my hair LOVES it. Castor, EVOO, Shea Butter, etc, seem to cause my curls to "Separate" when I use them on my everyday wash and go. This, just add to the "strength in numbers" for my curls as well as moisturizes it like nobody's business.
They're poo and condish are pretty amazing as well.
Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum is a unique formula which helps repair damaged hair and cuticles, and mend split ends and frizziness. This totally indulgent blend of organic weightless coconut oil and silk and keratin proteins promotes longer hair by helping reduce everyday damage while adding strength and elasticity to weak and brittle hair. |

Re: My First Twist Out!!!
On Friday I tried the Eco Custard yet mixed the gel with 1 tsp of both castor and jojoba oils. Love, love the results. My twists were incredibly soft yet they seem to loosen a bit than when I use my leave-in, Curl Souffle and castor oil on freshly cowashed hair. These twists I recently did were done on dry hair that I spritzed and sealed with the custard.
