Vacation Hair
Hi Divas-
I'm going on vacay in two weeks. I'm looking for styles and ways to protect my hair. Not sure if I want to get extention braids, so ladies I need suggestions for styles and ways to protect my transitioning hair during my vacay.

I did wash and go's on Spring Break since we went swimming every day. If you don't plan to swim a lot I would say wear twists for a few days then a twist out and repeat!

Like FierceNerd, when I vacation, I am in the water at least once once a day so WnGs are the best.FierceNerd wrote:I did wash and go's on Spring Break since we went swimming every day. If you don't plan to swim a lot I would say wear twists for a few days then a twist out and repeat!
I like her suggestion for twists and twist outs. Even if you swim alot during your vacation, you could do the following to help preserve your hair.
1) Wet hair thoroughly before getting in water.
2) Apply conditioner liberally to your hair.
3) If you are in chlorine, rinse hair as soon as you can and apply more conditioner/moisturizer.
4) Using shea butter and aloe vera can help with sun damage to your hair, if traveling to somewhere where the sun is beaming down on you. Their sunscreen properties are low but every little bit helps.
5) If in sea water, in my experience, you can rinse it when you get back to your home away from home.
The key is to protect your hair by "filling" it with water and conditioner before entering the water.
Enjoy your vacation!
