Dr. Bronner's Castille Soap
Tried it for the first time and it is definitely a staple. I actually feel crazy for paying $2 for a sample and not get the big bottle. Anywho, does anyone know if it is strong enough to remove Mineral oil or petroleum (sp?)? I bought some Miss Jessie's yesterday and am wondering if I should buy another shampoo to use afterwards.

I've tried both. I love the way the Dr. Bronner's makes my hair feel completely clean but I feel like it dries me out so I alternate.
Miss Jessie's Super Slip sudsy is what I swap out with but I JUST started using it. It works well but does't give that 100% clean feel that the castile soap does!
I'm still learning what products to use in my hair, what works and what doesn't for me.

@NHappyJackie, I do not think it would do a good job of clarifying. You could try to add a 1/2 teaspoon or so of baking soda to remove the mineral oil build up. I use baking soda and conditioner to clarify. The mix is about 1 T of baking soda to 1/2 c of conditioner. I focus on my scalp only for two minutes then smooth down the mix to my hair rinsing after about 30 seconds. I follow up with an apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse (2 cups of cold water to 3 T of ACV).

@ChrsLvsBks, do you rinse after the ACV rinse? I did a DC immediately after my ACV rinse today and was wondering if I did those steps correctly.
TIA.

I do not rinse the ACV mix out. I usually DC after and rinse then. I have also not DC after and left the ACV in and styles as normal.DvaAuNaturel wrote:ChrsLvsBks wrote:@NHappyJackie, I do not think it would do a good job of clarifying.
