Do you think that your hair is naturally the texture that it is or do you think that you can nurture you hair to change its texture (eg. what you eat and what you use on your hair, taking vitamins etc..) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm not sure.. I've read that hair texture is determined by follicle shape--but other sources that say everyones follicle is straight, it has nothing to do with the texture, and that some medications have been known to actually alter hair texture from curly to straight.

So with that info--and me purely guessing... I'll say nature. If it takes something as strong as a medication to change the texture, foods/vitamins won't do the job--but will aid in making the hair stronger and more healthy--but change the texture? I'd say no.

Interesting topic, I'd like to see what others say.

The health of your hair can be determined by diet, vitamins, etc but I don't know if diet can change the actual texture of your hair.

I agree with what's been said so far. If diet and vitamins could change texture, there would be no market for relaxers and texturizers, lol.
