Beautiful hair, ladies!

I don't like my hair straight, the last time I flat ironed my hair was Jan 09, it lasted 3 days. My desire for straight hair feels completely gone.

I believe I took these in July. That's is the last time I straightened my hair. I personally love straight hair as much as I love curly hair, and I would probably wear it straight more often if it didn't take 3 hours to do it... and only 3 minutes to frizz up... :-/ My hair is like cotton. If I'm longing for the straight locks wigs will just have to do for now because I swear my arms STILL hurt from my last straightening. LOL LOL

OMG everyone's hair is gorgeous!! As much as I <3 curly hair, I still like to change it up every now and then, and straighten it. Gotta love the versatility of our hair

I will admit that I don't use anything. Shame on me, and I use a lot of heat to straighten which is why I don't do it often. I blow dry my hair straight then flat iron. I apply some shea butter during the process. I need to work on a regimen for straightening.

I usually wear my hair straight...well i used to. I've decided not to press it for at least 3 years. WHY WAS I? It just doesn't make sense anymore, and causes too much damage and stress on my poor strands. VIVA LA AFRO!

@ rebelrocks-- cute pics [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In my pic, that was 3 days after I had it professionally straightened and the stylist used "it's a 10" leave-in which protects against heat--but it kind of expensive.
At home--when I blow dry and flat iron I use Ion Straightener, or Marc Anthony's Simply Straight (purchased at Sally's and Ulta) which are creams you put on the hair while it is wet, before blow drying. I've also used FHI's "Hot Sauce" along with those, after blow drying, before flat ironing. It claims to infuse moisture while you heat style--I bought it because of several naturals raving about it on the reviews of a store website. It's expensive for a small bottle, the results are nice though.
When I roller set then flat Iron, I use Beyond the Zone's "Turn Up the Heat" (Sally's)which is a spray on, I spray each section before flat ironing & it gives good results, and smells good to me.
My hair is pretty fine, but last time I roller set and flat ironed with "Turn up the Heat" my flat iron was on #5 heat setting and my hair hat a "bone straight" look. I never use a heat setting over 10 (my iron goes up to 30), and I've had good results with all of the above heat protectants.
