Going on a fruit/veggie cleanse Empty Going on a fruit/veggie cleanse

Post by popsbaby 18th March 2010, 5:48 pm

I have been acting up with the food, especially butter pecan ice cream. It's time for a cleanse.
I did one in November and it was awful. I was only allowed a certain amount of fruit (only certain fruits) a day, only certain veggies. Honestly,it almost killed me. I did lose weight, though. This time I will do a 10 day cleanse incorporating a larger selection of fruits and veggies.
Wish me luck. BC in 2 months. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Hi there,

Can I get more info regarding your cleanse? That sounds right up my alley. I've been going overboard, myself, and a cleanse would be a perfect way to kick-start better eating habits.

TIA!

Hi~
I just started today. So far, so good. I made a huge beautiful fruit salad that I've been gnawing on all day.
Here's what I am following. Let me know what you think.
If you'd like, I can keep you updated on my progress. Have a good day!!

Wow, that looks great! I read one of Jordan Rubin's diet books before. He's experienced a great weight-loss journey. Okay, I'm in! I'll start tomorrow. Please track your progress, and I'll post mine, too!

Have a good one!

I did this during last summer with cardio and was successful in weight loss as well. It left me really energized. I, however, followed The Fat Smash Plan by Dr. Ian from Celebrity Fit Club. In the beginning I felt deprived, but eventually got used to the subtle changes in my diet. I unfortuantely fell off the wagon and have been wanting to get back on. Its a lot more helpful when you have others motivating you. This plan looks interesting......seems like a really good way to ease back into eating healthier.

I have no problem at all with sharing my progress with y'all. I think it'll be cool to see how this affects weight loss and overall health.

Thanks girl, right back at cha!! I will say that I experienced a headache last night, probably my body getting used to the change.
It's all good though. I had my fruit salad for breakfast and had enough energy to do 45 minutes of Zumba.

Keep eating your fruit. I don' think that there's a limit. I made a really nice fruit salad with watermelon, strawberries, grapes, kiwi, oranges, pinapple, blueberries and raspberries. I made enough to last me all day.
Toya~ Once you get past day one, I think you'll b fine. Then you can have salads for dinner.

P.S. I had coffee too. And I don't feel bad about it at all. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

On a good note, I lost a pound since yesterda [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] but I caved in last night...I ate a cup of noodles, (a very poor choice) and I had a bowl of cornflakes w/bananas this morning. I'm going to try to stick to the plan for the rest of the day though.

Hi ladies,

I think it's great that we are even considering going through with it...that's a small feat in itself! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We can do this, for sure!! Out of sheer boredom, I ate a handful of candy last night! I don't know what I was thinking...lol.

Anyhoo, I weighed in this morning, and I've also lost a pound since yesterday. Any weight loss will be nice, but my main goal will be to break myself of all of my poor eating habits. I also worked out last night, so I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I had an apple and grapes, and I'm drinking green tea now.

I'll touch base with you all later today. Keep the faith!

Hi there!!
Today is day 3 for me.
For breakfast I had a fruit salad. I had an orange for a snack.
Lunch was an small avocado with salt and pepper (BANGIN) and a little more fruit salad. I'll have an apple at around 2 and
some more fruit salad around 3:30 and have a huge salad for dinner.

I have crazy energy and I feel better than I have in a long time.
Remember ladies. Eat, eat, eat. No starvation.

Oh yeah... I don't know if I have lost anything. I refuse to weigh myself because it depresses me.
I use my clavicle bone as a measure and so far, I do see more bone.
We'll see. Have a great day and keep the faith.

Hi!

That avocado sounds soooo good!! I am also on day 3, and I was able to have salad for dinner last night ~~ delicious!! I've never been so excited about a salad... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I actually feel "cleaner", if that makes any sense. It is awesome to feel like I'm providing all of the nutrients to my body that I've been purposely avoiding for a while. I'm thinking that I must be eating less fruit than I'm supposed to, because I've been lacking energy. I've worked out the past couple of days, and that has helped. I think I let the day get away from me when I'm working.

That's funny that you mentioned your clavicle. When I look at myself in pictures, that's the first thing I look for. I can't help it, though. I weighed myself this morning, and I have lost 3 pounds since Tuesday morning!!!! I know that this is definitely not a sign of permanent weight loss, but as I said before, I hope that I pick up better eating habits that can continue well after next week.

Chat with you later, ladies!!

Morning ladies!

How are you doing today? It's day 4 for me, and I'm feeling pretty good. Actually, I'm a little sore from working out, but that just lets me know my workouts are successful. They were giving away cakes on Tuesday (I work for a food service company), and I didn't budge from my desk. That was a great feeling. We're having an 'ice cream social' event this afternoon, and I'm not even interested in the treats. Can you tell the people around me like to eat??? LOL

I baked some apples this morning, and they are soooo yummy!! I just cut the tops off, cored them, and sprinkled cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg on top. They are extra juicy, and it feels like I'm eating dessert in the middle of the day!

I wish you all the best, and I'll be in touch.
