Hesitant but Ready Transitioning
My whole life i have been told how beautiful i am. Standing 5'11 im
often told i should be a model. Immersed into a world that prides you
on your appearance i became wrapped up in my looks. My hair being my
main insecurity. For 19 years I have felt as if my hair defined me and
when it wasn't done my self esteem plummeted. Once the braids, sew ins,
glue, curly, straight, wavy, even low cuts and fades are done i think
"i wish i could just wear my hair." After taking down a sew in I essentially had a braid out. I looked in the mirror and was like hey this is kinda cute, i had an epiphany. This year after being referred to
curlyNikki by my cousin *Scugalicious* I decided it was now that i
wanted to fully embraced my natural beauty. I haven't had a perm in 5
months and after reading and looking at all the women on the site i
grow more excited everyday about being natural. I know my mom who is natural will jump with joy because she often says "One day you going to
get tired of all that weave girl" lol. I currently have a sew in and
have began collecting products suggested on the site. I would really
like to know what all you all use. I cant wait for my T.W.A. Braid outs
and everything else. The journey has begun.

Re: Hesitant but Ready Transitioning
I love that cut. Have you decided how long you will transition for? Like you, my mother is natural also and has been for most of my life. She is my biggest supporter and now we bicker over earrings because your earring game must be on point when you're rocking natural.
I cowash with HH Totally Twisted and follow with an ACV rinse for my final rinse to combat my itchy scalp. I use Giovanni Direct Leave-In conditioner and I seal my hair with either my blend of unrefined shea butter w/jojoba oil or Carol's Daughter's Healthy Hair Butter. I also prepoo w/a baggy before each cowash using EVOO and my conditioner.

Re: Hesitant but Ready Transitioning
Welcome Ms Jupitarlove-
First Congrads on your transition. I know you will look beautiful and Rock your natural hair. Is site has a lot of great info and support so don't hestiate to ask question there are threads for just about everything.
Here is my regimen:
I co-wash once a week w/ Suave Tropical Coconut
After which I DC w/ Giovanni 50/50 or Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (usually w/ heat for 30 min to hour)
Apply leave-in w/ HH
Moisturize w/ Shea/coconut mix
Seal w/ oil (castor, jojaba,etc)
Style (no direct heat)
Below is a definition of Sealing?
Is essentially sealing moisture in the hair, specifically the ends. For sealing to be effective, you must first use a water-based moisturizer (a conditioner or cream that has water as its first ingredient), and then seal with a butter or oil. The molecules in most butters/oils are too large to pass into the hair, so they stick to the outside of the shaft, trapping in the rich goodness of the moisturizer. Reversing those 2 steps will lead to dry hair. Sealing has saved my hair.
Here is a thread of all the natural hair lango-

Pretty Jupitar! Your twist out looks good! Did you B/C yet because I'm confused by reading if you did or not? ^-^
My regimen is constantly changing, but I always have an oil...and a moisturizer.
