Re: Spring/Summer Regimens
So basically someone needs to plan a curly getaway to the Virgin Islands. I'm in!!! Especially if there are a lot of cuties..lol
Re: Spring/Summer Regimens
I chopped last June so I had it easy with wash and go styles. I think the summer is the fun season for our hair, so I'm going to get as funky as possible with it!

Oh I am soooo looking forward to rockin my curls for the first time in a wash n go this spring and summer. I am going to whip out the vegetable gylcerin, aloe vera, and honey in everything I use for my hair. My transition hair liked it, hopefully my 100% natural will too. Re: Spring/Summer Regimens
I can't wait until this summer. I'll have more hair to work with and I can finally try the twists I've been longing to try. LoL

I'm really nervous about the summer actually haha. It's my first time actually putting tlc into my hair. I'm nervous about wash 'n gos cause I don't want to get those dreaded SSK. I'll probably end up wearing lots of twists/twist-outs.

I used it for twists but I found putting it on top of a leave in and moisturizer causes major clumpage and curl definition...I mean its to the point that I didnt want to twist my hair...so this summer I'm gonna try it.

What leave-in and moisturizer do you use before applying the eco custard?

Re: Spring/Summer Regimens
I am so excited for spring! It's my favorite time of year [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]. My go to style is a twist out. I moisturize at night with water and vegetable glycerin and twist primarily using Jane Carter's twist and lock. I untwist in the morning and let the humidity do it's thing . Or I use the same protocol for a twist and curl. I think that's what I did in my profile pic. That was in April of last year.

Sorry for the delay.
I apply Aussie Hair Insurance Spray (water Aloe Vera based) and Giovanni direct leave in to wet hair. then put in big twists. As I take down the twists to put into smaller twists I apply a moisturizer I have used Curls whipped cream and Unrefined shea butter. This time I used a Mango, shea and Cocoa butter mix under the gel.
The amazing thing is they feel hard at first then it just softens and silkens if that makes sense...it must be the oil.
Anyway when you try it let me know.
Re: Spring/Summer Regimens
This will be my first summer natural, and I have no idea what my summer regiment will be
I will be in braids from June - July, because I will be traveling a lot in June. It will be easier, and don't want to deal with the hassel you go through at the airport trying to take my products with me!!
So I plan to watch this thread, and get ideas for Aug, Sept, and Oct!!!

Okay...I'm real curious now...watched the video. Impressed....like her mixture, but can you shed a little more light on your technique?
So you use a leave-in conditioner, then twist....then as you take down your large twist to do your actual twists in which you use a moisture and on top of that the eco gel custard?
Sorry...but it takes me a minute to get things sometimes.... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Dear Miss Heavyhanded,
Please make sure you use small amounts of honey. If you do, it wont be "sticky n gooey"
Sincerely,
Miss Kinda Heavyhanded [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm keeping an eye on this thread. This is my first spring/summer with natural hair, so have no clue how to change. But I'm excited.
