Love the puff!!! I noticed that my hair sheds in March..I've only been natural for 6 months so I don't know if I'll experience it again.
I'm late but congratulations on making 6 months!!!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Hey KNH! whats up with that? Shedding aint no joke. i hope it ends some time. But thanks I am glad to have made it six months.
Hey all. I bought a Dr. Bronners peppermint castile soap bar. I had originally bought it for my face and I ended up shampooing my hair with it. I like the clean it gave me. I didnt get a chance to deep condition because I'm still with my BF and all i had was a very small amount of my coconut conditioner so I put that in and then rinsed and put my shea butter mix in. My hair is once again in mini twists and they should last me till thursday. I hope you all had a happy mothers day!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Wow, the skin color subject. One that plagues us, has followed us for centuries. It's a sad thing...
Moriah- your hair is growing SO SO much! That puff is amazing!

MissM...
That avatar is hot!!! Love, Love the puff!!! CUTE!!! Did you take pictures of your blow-out? Please share...LOL
I guess I will visit that make-up thread. I'm trying to get away from make-up because I could never find an exact match for my skin tone. However, you are working it girl!!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
@poeticlyspkng - Thanks. I know right I was looking at older pictures and my hair is growing out so much.
Re: missmoriahiscurly
@KNH - i didnt take pictures of the blow out itself because I put it into the puff that you see in my avatar. The makeup thread is under skin care and i think it has the word "pole" in the title.
Re: missmoriahiscurly
There's not one thing wrong with your hair! I think that puff is awesome
But I understand though. It still hurts my feelings when family doesn't like my hair cuz they would have the same hair if they weren't relaxing and straightening and torturing it!! smh but it doesn't hurt enough to stop wearing my curls and kinks with pride

Re: missmoriahiscurly
@Bholmes. Thank for the encouragement. Gosh why is family so harsh sometimes? I guess I just had to ask and he gave me his honest opinion. oh well. But your right it DEFINITELY didn't hurt enough for me to get rid of it. I love my hair too much like this!! I feel more like myself.
@Lynnie. Thanks lady. And shrinkage is my worst enemy. I never know how much my hair has grown unless I do something like the puff. smh but thats okay i guess because its always a surprise.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Good Afternoon,
Your hair is looking great. I've been having some light shedding issues too but stopped worrying after everyone else said it's normal. I just want anything going wrong so I immediately got worried when I saw the hair when I detangled/finger combed.
The skin color issue is always going to plague us unfortunately. It's been around so long and people have their own issues and continue to pass it on to their children unforunately. We are such a beautiful people, from vanilla to cafe au'lait to caramel to coffee in colors. We need to appreciate that but we often get hung up on other people's standards and issues and abuse one another based on color.
Your makeup is really pretty. I'll have to start checking out the makeup thread for some tips.
Have a great day and fantastic weekend!

@DvaAuNaturel: Thanks. I am still a bit freaked out by this so called "shedding" I just want it to stop. I feel like I am doing something wrong.
On the skin color thing, It is really unfortunate that we are still finding ways to divide ourselves as a people, based off of SKIN COLOR
And thanks about the makeup. I am a make up fanatic so I am always playing in it.

LOL @ disco ball!!!! Well really all I did was blow my hair out gel down the front and just picked out the puff and I think that it naturally rounds. LOL I only have a couple pics but they are all from the front. I forget to take pics of the back.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Hey yall! Happy Saturday I hope everyone's weekend is going well. The Last two days I went swimming and ended up shampooing my hair like two or three times. I did mini DC's after each shampoo but I am thinking maybe I shouldn't swim until they day that I wash and DC which is on sunday because now I am confused on what to do with my hair tomorrow. Should I still DC or just leave it alone? On to another note I WANNA HENNA SO BAD but i don't know where to get it locally and i don't want to order online. SMH I just like to be able to go somewhere and get a product when i need it. And lastly I have a question for anyone that wants to answer, How can I combat shrinkage without having to blow dry or twist my hair everyday. I love my wash n go's but I'm ready to show my length and wash n go's definitely steel that away from me. So What do you do to combat it and what products do you use?
Re: missmoriahiscurly
how bout u try the banding technique like jnb has been doin lately!
and for the swimming...when i first bc'd i found a wealth of info from newly natural blog becuz she trained for the triathalon last summer and she was swimming often. i knew i wanted to find a good reggie to put in my journal for future reference cuz i do plan on hoppin in the pool every chance i get.
use some cheapie condish n slather it on, twist it up or whatever and slap a swimcap on. if ur hair is already in twist still slap some condish on...whatever u do make sure u put some condish on. u know how even with a swimcap water still seaps in.
then after swimming u dont have to worry about so much as far as the chlorine damage or the water makin ur hair hard, just rinse n go; esp if u makin it routine to hop in the pool often. we have on in our backyard and im HOPIN my stepdad opens it this summer (its been out of commission that past 2 summers) so i can dip n dive like...er'ryday!!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Banding technique? sounds interesting Ill have to check out her thread. I know what you mean about water still seeping in. What is up with that? I never understood what the point of wearing one was if water was still gonna get in. But i guess its to keep hair at ya face. I never thought of putting conditioner in my hair to get in the pool. LOL thats a good idea though. I will start doing that because I do plan on using the pool for some exercise, just to mix it up a bit cuz it is super hott out here in ATL. And lucky you I wish I had a pool in my backyard. one day...one day
Re: missmoriahiscurly
I am gonna try the banding technique tomorrow for the first time. I am gonna band my hair and let if dry overnight.
