There is a natural hair meetup on Saturday May 15th. I'm not sure of the location right now but you can check it out on facebook listed under gorgeous atlanta naturals.

@Sweet: Thank you lady. You know your always the first to comment? lol
@Lynnie: Lol Thats quite alright better late than never. j/k Thank you. and me too it took me forever.
@Rosebud: Thanks!
@Mrsmackey: I know how you feel. Thats exactly what happened with me. I had been wanting to BC and had thought that I was going to transition. Little did I know I was very impatient and wanted to embrace my natural hair weather it was short or not so one day I just snipped it off all by myself.
@DvaAuNaturel: Thank You. I was so excited looking at my puff from my BC and I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere.

hey Moriah! Seems like just yesterday you were trying to figure out your twa and now here you are with a nice sized, soft, healthy looking puff! Go girl!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Hey Guys! I have a concern. Lately as my hair grows I notice that when I style it, little hair are coming out. They all have the little bulbs on them. I just don't understand what the hair loss is for. My hair is soft and moisturized so I'm not sure what i could be from...If anyone has a clue I would love to hear from you. Thanks In Advance!
Re: missmoriahiscurly

Hey MissMoriah! Passing through saying hey! I'm shedding a little, too. It's completely normal don't panic! This too shall pass.
Re: missmoriahiscurly
Thanks Lynnie and CurlsGalore! You guys saved me because really I was freakin out. I thought my hair was falling out because I wasn't doing something right. But its good to know that SHEDDING IS NORMAL.
I have something I would like to get off my chest tonight. I have been watching tyra and she has done two shows, that i have seen, regarding black(african american) women and how they feel about being black. These women are comparing themselves to lighter skinned women. And really it makes me so sad. I used to feel the same way about myself. I used to feel different because both of my sisters and my little brother are of lighter skin. My mom is also lighter and so is the rest of her family and these are the people I grew up with. Its so sad that society has brainwashed black people and other races as well, that darker skin tones are not beautiful. I now LOVE MYSELF. I lOVE MY SKIN, MY HAIR, MY EYES, and every other thing about me. It really hurts me to see other black women bleaching their skin and their children so that they can be "lighter". That is teaching them that they are not beautiful just the way they are. I just bawled my eyes out. LOL not that thats new for me seeing that I am OH SO EMOTIONAL. But still Its sad and I hope and pray that people especially Black women can learn to love themselves no matter what skin color or hair type they have. I dont know if this paragraph even makes sense but I just had to get it off my chest so bare with me ya'll. I Would like to hear all if any opinions that you all have on this topic.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
love the puff and i understand wit the shedding, i last shed during the snowstorm in feb and havent since! congrats on the anniversary
In ref to the topic, those type shows really IRK the crap outta me becuz even to this day im judged cuz of my skin and bein stereotyped before even gettin to know me. i blame society and parents who allow this trend to be implanted in our heads at a young age. black folks are so unique, we come in all shapes n colors. bleachin the skin is takin it tooo far. in some countries i see practices where they bleach babies and want kids to be a certain complexion. have u seen jessica simpson's vh1 show? showcasing what different countries think beauty is?
omg, the one i see when they visited china or some place, the popular procedure is makin their eyes wider. im thinkin why not stick to ur signature chinky eyes? in brazil this one lady would rather live in a ruff neighborhood WITH her child to be able to get some cheap boob job than sacrifice n have a better way of livin for her daughter. WHAT??? not judgin her as a bad mom cuz thats just the way they sacrifice for beauty. its just funny how we have different definitions of beauty. too light or dark, fat n skinny...we have to break our own barriers and teach our kids to love themselves first. it broke my heart in "good hair" movie to hear those little girls say they'd rather have long n straight hair becuz its "pretty" vs embracing the kinks n coils that grow out of their scalp. why are the mothers neglecting to teach their kids, mainly their daughters they dont need a man to validate their beauty and dnt have to be dmn near naked for attention....wheeeeew girl dont get me started.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
You know nubbie I really do appreciate your response. It bothers the hell out of me that black women will judge lighter skinned women right of the back without knowing them. I don't know what happened to me but I have never ever judged someone from the color of their skin. I don't know where people get off judging others or even thinking that because of the color of their skin that they think they are better or whatever. Its ridiculous! I think it comes from my family being so diverse that I am able to see everyone for who they are. I have never seen the Jessica Simpson show only because I don't know when it comes on. LOL I can't believe the asain women were trying to make their eyes wider. Its really a sad thing and what is even sadder is the mother that would rather put her child and herself in an unsafe environment in order to have a "cheap boob job?" what the hell! excuse me but WTH!!! I still have yet to see good hair. I know that it is embedded in young girls heads that straight hair=good/pretty hair. I am just so grateful that I have developed and learned to know better. I am thankful that I came across such beautiful women embracing their natural hair because it has really changed my way of thinking and life. One day when I have children they will know that they do not have to change a think about themselves to be accepted, beautiful, or successful.
P.S. I skipped out on the having a man to validate because it is a good friday morning and i wanna keep i that way cuz it will send me over the edge talkin about that. LOL I hope some other ladies come and share their opinions.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
im staying at my boyfriends for the week and i have placed my hair back into mini twists. He wants to take me out tomorrow. I don't want to take them down yet because i just put them in and it took forever but i don't want to leave the house with them because they are not presentable or at least i dont feel that they are okay to leave the house with. i think i will be forced to rock a twistout for saturday.
Re: missmoriahiscurly
Hey MissMoriah!
If you dont want to take them out, I say do a really cute beanie and a few in a twistout in the front. That way, you save all your hard work but still have a really cute casual look! Just a suggestion!
