Re: HOLY GRAIL PRODUCTS
Hi I'm new to this forum and fairly new to this hair journey with my start at BHM as of Nov. 2009. I've become quite a bit of a PJ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] but believe I've finally found the following products that I'll never be without!!
Hair One Olive Oil for Dry Hair Cleanser and Conditioner (sulfate free, can also be used as a leave-in and dc!)
ACV (as a rinse)
VO5 Moisture Milks (for co-washing and sometimes a little as a leave-in mixed with Hair One)
ORS Replenishing Pak
Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol Plus w/Mango (usually mixed with another conditioner, ie: HE HH or honey, etc.
Shea Butter (raw, un-refined (as is) for sealing....excellent for my twists/twist-outs)
Cocoa Butter (raw, un-refined (as is) also for sealing
These butters have been a godsend for my hair (and skin)....frizz is a thing of the past [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I'll be experimenting with whipping just as soon as I purchase some oils!
I have new products yet to try that I just ordered/received a few days ago....never know some of these might be added to the above list eventually lol!
Burt's Bees Avocado Pre-Shampoo Hair Treatment (haven't yet used it as a pre-treatment, but last night used it to redo twists, put up in bantu-knots and baggy overnight....felt like it was just sitting on top and felt coated/waxy before twisting up.....this morning after taking down....ahhhh so nice and soft!!
HE Totally Twisted
HE Hydralicious
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
Didn't really plan on ordering anything else, but just had to get a email from drugstore.com regarding a sale! Many hair care products on sale with buy one get one 50% off and other good offers ending 3/19. I wanted so much more, but recognize I have a product addiction LOL!!
Sorry for the long post,
Thanks,
Vera
PS how do I get an avatar/pic up?

@Vera-how often do you ACV rinse? the first time I did it was great my hair was a lot shinier and softer but I did it again a cpl weeks later and my hair felt dry afterwards? i'm not sure why?
Also, when your on the forums main page at the top on the menu bar click "profile" then "avatar" that will bring you where you can upload or choose a pic

Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration
V05 Passionfruit Smoothie Conditioner

That's it hahah. I could just use these for the rest of my life and my hair (and my wallet [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]) would be super happy.

Thanks Miki....I finally figured it out [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As for the ACV, I only do it about 2x monthly now, but at first like you I did it back to back once on my shampoo/dc day (which is 1x weekly) and the 2nd time my hair felt dry and hard. Only thing is can't remember if I rinsed it out or not? I had been following a thread on another forum regarding the benefits and whether or not to rinse or not with water following the ACV rinse. I remember telling myself to try both ways, but can't be certain what I did now lol!
I do know that since then I have cut down the proportion of ACV to water to like 1/4c. to 2 qrts. water and I like to rinse with water following. Hair is super shiny and detangling is a much easier process.

Dr Bronner's Castille Soap for the VERY rare poo
I add castor oil, coconut oil, and an egg to V05 for DC
