When you straighten your hair that once every blue moon you daydream about washing and styling your curly hair again

You know you're curly when you're out with your boyfriend and every women that passes with any type of "non-straight" hair he asked, " is she natural."

...Or after seeing the Chris Rock movie, Good Hair, and seeing what the chemicals in perm can do to an aluminium can, turns to you with a stern face and pointing his finger says, " you better never put that mess in your hair again."

You stand in front of a mirror for the first time, hair dripping wet and see your God given strands for what they really are. You pull a strand at the top of your head and watch it recoil. Wow! What a discovery!

You know you are curly when you want you hair to be so big that people can't see past you and when it does get that big you plan to sit in the front row EVERY chance you get.

You know you're a curly when your white colleagues are fascinated by your hair and they're curious to touch or wonder how you get your hair so versatile.

You also know you're a curly when you get really excited to cowash.

And lastly you definitely know you're a curly when you read more hair product labels than nutritional labels before you make a purchase.

You know you're a curly when no matter how ugly/nappy/puffy/picky your mom calls you hair you walk past the relaxer kit and smile!!

You also know you're a curly when you drive 2 hours round trip just to get that new conditioner you never tried before

You also know you're a curly when almost all of your favorite websites/blogs involve curly hair/ideas/pics/posts/people.

...you run out of space in the bathroom cabinets for hair products and you start invading/borrowing the hubbies cabinets too. Can you say PRODUCT JUNKY?!?

You know you're a curly when... friends have people you don't know call you to get information because they want to go 'natural' and you can't wait to talk to them because it's someone that DOES want to here you go on and on about hair.

...you can go to Walgreens and spend $90 on hair products and accessories alone.

...when you can't wait to update your Fotki with the monthly hair pictures.

1. You know you're curly when the first thing you do when you get to work/school is check the natural hair websites to see if anything new is posted (in my case to see if there is a new Naturally Glam Hair Idol)

2. You know you're curly when you get extra excited about a new hair product (shampoo, condtioner, etc) and look for any reason to wash your hair so you can try it out.

3. You know you're curly when every conversation no matter what you started out talking about ends with you talking about some new style, product or website you saw for natural hair.

4. You know you're curly when humidity if your friend.

5. You know you're curly when people who don't understand keep asking when are you getting a relaxer.

you know you are curly when...you have more shampoos and conditioners in the shower than body soaps.

You know you're curly when you've been given a strange look for saying co-wash, but then you quickly remember that not everybody understands the lingo and ,atone point, you once had to look up what TWA, EVCO, and TNC meant too.
