You know you're a curly when you know the differences between almost every word you can barely pronounce on the ingrediant list of any given bottle. And no matter how awesome it smells or how great the price, becuase your kinks are so incredibly spoiled, you put the bottle back on the shelf muttering to yourself "you just deserve better! These people must think I'm some new kinda crazy to put that mess in my head". Observe other startled shoppers timidly sliding various bottles onto the shelves and slipping out of the aisle behind you. LOL Being natural is the best surprise I ever unearthed!

relaxed beauties swear your hair is insanely short, but have no idea that shrinkage is on their side since your hair is like twice their length.

You know you're a curly when...

when you give away a flat iron that cost $200 and you are glad its gone.

you know you're curly when all you talk about is your curls...to everybody...all the time. To strangers in the street that compliment it, to your roomates who are getting sick of it.... to yourself while your fluffing your braidout...everybody.

You know you're curly when everywhere you go people complain about your hair blocking their view.

You know you're curly when you spent half of your life wanting your hair to be straight, the other 1/2 of your life settling for the super-gelled wet look (aka ramen noodle) and will spend the rest of your life letting your hair be the full, ringlety mane it was meant to be.

I wasn't always a curly, I used to be obsessed with my hair being flat or long or soft and smooth. I know now that I am. For me, it's not how much money I spend on it, or how many times I get the perfect twist out or how I feel about rain or humidity.

All those things are just the outside, to me being a curly is a felt quality.

I know I'm a curly by the feeling I have that my curls aren't just hair, they are me and my beauty and power radiating out in beautiful rays into the world. Like a curly sun, giving life and warmth and strength.
