Ok ladies, please tell me if I did my Bantu Knots right. I have been trying to master this for over a week now and the only way I seem to be able to wear it is pulled back or pulled up in a pony tail. I would like to wear it down but I can never make it look right. Any suggestions?

That's really pretty! Whenever I do a bantu knot-out, I wear mine pulled back, too. I can never get them to look right just hanging down. I think my hair is still too short.

Bantu knot-out has become my daily style. I wear it up or down and sometimes with a part in the middle like in the pic below. Sometimes it comes out really nice and not so much at other times but I haven't been able to determine what makes one successful and not the other. I posted this same picture on another topic. Loveself247 your BK-out is beautiful!

My avatar is a bantu-knot out. not sure if its the "right" or "wrong" way but I was able to get 2nd and 3rd day hair with it so it worked for me. I usually leave it down and don't pull it up because I have a bunch of weird layers in my hair, it just wouldn't look right. but yours looks fly loveself247 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Beautiful hair. Love the look right or not. Keep rockin' it and give H-town a holla from a native in Germany.

Soooo I think your hair is beautiful! I have been doing bantu knot outs too (next time I'll post pics) but the ones that still seem twisted I usually separate again. And then do a side part and wherever it falls, it falls lol. There's no right or wrong girl you can make the right or wrong... thats the best part about our hair.

@loveself247 ...Your BK look beautiful!!! I tried them once and like dajewel, mine looked a disaster. I haven't tried them since, and that was like seven or eight months ago.

My avatar is of Bantu knots. I've been doing them for about four months know and love how they turn out. I think they just look different on different heads. Yours look great though!

@rreberhardt: Your hair is beautiful in your Avatar photo. I tried doing the knot out set when I first transitioned and it did not work out too well. Now I just do them on my two strand twists to protect my style at night. The next time I wash my hair I'm going to try them w/o braiding or twisting.
