Want to make a spritz... Empty Want to make a spritz...

Post by Curly Film Chick 19th January 2010, 7:14 pm

I want to make a spritz for my hair, something I can just spray in, especially when I'm protecting styling in twists. Just a few things I know about my hair:

-my hair is iffy on shea butter
-protein sensitive
-I have very dense hair
- my hair loves coconut oil

And I would like to use ingredients I can easily get...

thanks!

I keep adjusting my spray, but Ive been using a mixture of water, aloe vera gel, castor oil, and EOs (peppermint, rosemary, sage, eucalyptus). My hair really likes this mixture. tiashauntee uses a similar mixture as well.

hmm...I'm not really sure how to use castor oil. I have it and I've used it to seal my ends, but I'm not sure I like it all that much.

My mini spray bottle consist of water, leave-in conditioner, glycerin, peppermint, tea tree and sweet orange oils.

You could make yours with, water, melted coconut oil, some condish and an EO of your choice.

I think I have all of the essentials for making my own spritz but am wondering about how much do you mix together...

I have coco oil, peppermint oil, jojoba, and tea tree oil. Should I throw some aloe vera in there as well or will water suffice?

Thanks, too, for being so forthcoming about your regimes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I need a quick daily regime on this 4A hair!

Yea I am confused on the measurements for each ingredient.

I have coco oil, caster oil, vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil, EVOO, vitamin E, tea tree oil, and lavender EO.

I BC June 27, 2010 and my hair was so dry; like it was going to break or something. And now it finally started getting soft and keeping moisture in. But I need something that I can spray for when I really start styling my hair.

Ok I finally found some recipes with measurements.

http://www.happycurls.com/v2/smf/index.php?topic=3677.0

I think I'm gonna use this recipe but change out the grapeseed oil and rosemary EO for jojoba oil and lavender EO.

1teaspoon of olive oil
1teaspoon of castor oil
1teaspoon of
grapeseed oil
2-3 squrts of conditioner (Elucence or whatever I have
on hand)
1 squirt of liquid setting lotion (lottabody concentrated)
5-10
drops of Rosemary EO

I hope this helps!

I use three parts water, to a little more than one part vegetable glycerin oil, a couple of drops of tea tree oil, a couple of drops of jojoba oil, a couple of drops of rosemary oil, and a drop of two of ylang ylang (for fragrance). Sometimes, when I'm feeling lazy, I will just use water and veg. glycerin oil. When my hair was much shorter, I used it at night before I went to bed, and then every morning after I cowashed, or whatever I did to style my hair that day.
