Using Henna when Transitioning
I just started transitioning and I have two textures right not. I was wondering if I can start using Henna now or if I should wait till I am completely natural?

Re: Using Henna when Transitioning
I would like to know this myself. I am a new transitioner too! I read on the Butters N Bars website that you can use it on relax hair but I would like to hear from someone from the CN community that has used it while transitioning to chime in.

@ashollan,,well I did ask Curly Nikki and she said you could use it on relaxed hair. They actually make Henna for all hair types. Go to www.mehandi.com to check it out. Nikki suggested Jamila 2009.

Thanks loveself247! I will definitely check them out. I am only 6 weeks post so I got a ways to go in my transition (I will be a long-term transitioner) but I am very excited to try new things...been wanting to try henna for about a year now.

I am transitioning and I use henna but I mainly do Henna Gloss' because I find that it is easier to rinse out.

Re: Using Henna when Transitioning
Hey Ladies! I'm transitioning and I use henna. I use henna that I buy from my local Indian grocery. The brands I have right now are Jamila and Mumtaz. I henna every three weeks and believe me I love it! It has been 6 months since my last relaxer. My hair grows fast, so I have plenty of new growth. But because I have been using henna you can't even tell I have new growth. It smooths and relaxes my curls somewhat so that my new growth is blended right in with my relaxed hair. Not to mention, My hair is strong and there is no breakage. I think if you are transitioning this should become a part of your regimen. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
