box braids without extensions
I'm thinking that I wanna try box braids because I don't want to
manipulate my hair too much and I'm just looking for a new style. Also
protection from the harsh winter air. I am 5 months into my transition
so I need a suggestions on how to make the braids stay and also I don't
have money for extensions. Not to mention someone to braid. I need the
advice ladies please.

Re: box braids without extensions
I do box braids on both of my daughters hair. I braid it until the end when the hair gets thinner then I do two strand twist on the very end. I will then but a pinch of shea butter on the end and twist the end around my finger. Also usually every 2 or 3 days will but shea butter or my shealoe mix (shea butter, evco, aloe vera gel, tea tree oil) on the ends and retwist any loose ends. I do this after their bath so the hair is a little moist or I spritz the hair. They love the box braids for the movement and their hair protected.
Hope this helps!
