What products do you use to seal your hair?

Does anyone know a good product to seal my hair with? I'm a 4b and any info any of you guys have would be great. Thanks!

I use Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter or unrefined shea butter. Either one will keep my hair moisturized for days.

I use either:
Castor Oil mixed with Sweet Almond or Avocado Oil

or

My moisturizing shea butter mix

i use shea butter or coconut oil,,,i have 4a/4b hair

I use a mix of Carol's Daughter Lisa's Hair Elixir, Tea Tree Oil and Extra Virgin Olive oil...

I use my shea butter mix or coconut oil (which is my favorite).

I use coconut oil or whipped shea butter and I put castor oil on the last inch of my ends.

straight shea butter works the best for me

I use extra virgin olive oil but I just bought a bottle of virgin coconut oil that I'm about to try out.

Coconut oil (my fav) or shea butter. The shea could be straight shea or some type of mix like shealoe or Oyin whipped pudding. Sometimes I'll use coconut oil along the entire length of my hair and then just use shea at the ends. I think CO gives me more shine/sheen than shea.

Depending on my mood, I will use JBCO, Coconut Oil, my whipped Shea Butter mix, or My Honey Child Honey Hair Creme. My favorite is the JBCO tho

I definitely use coconut oil (my new love) or extra virgin olive oil. but im thinking of buying some unrefined shea butter to seal with. Question for all you ladies can you also use shea butter as a moisturizer or just as a sealant

I use either EVCO, Castor oil, or Safflower oil.

I like the coconut oil. I'm gonna use it for my twists.
I also used it on my skin. That was also very nice.

Pure coconut oil....makes my hair SO silky and shiny...and I seal the entire legnth of my hair with it...add a dab of Eco Gel in my hand rub thru my head(just that one dab) let it air dry...WahLah!! Shiny, soft, moisturized "sulky" hair [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

My fave sealant is my shealoe mixture.
Shea butter
Coconut oil
EVOO
Jojoba oil
Honey
Aloe Vera gel
Lavender/Rosemary EO

My hair stays moisturized for days!

I'm a newbie and I was wondering what the benefits are for putting oil on the ends of the hair?

I seal with my shealoe mix or whipped shea butter.

@lechatnoir324: Welcome to CN! Oil is a great moisturizer for your ends. Our ends tend to become dry which leads to breakage and shedding over time. I like to use a light oil like jojoba or sweet almond oil. Olive oil works well, too!

Hey Curlies,

I have a question. . . I noticed a lot of you use the term "sealing your ends" but what exactly do you mean by that? Do you put the shea butter, oil, etc on your hair before you style or do you only put it on your ends?
