hello everyone! yesterday was my "birthday"! yes, my big chop was the rebirth of me. and after the chop i can say with out a doubt i have 4b hair. its in a twa right now. i think i have 2 inches of length. but i have NO idea what to do with it. a satin scarf leaves my hair lopsided and dry by the morning. it seems its more high maintenance than my wrap and go relaxers! i dont truly blv that but this is new to me so i'm lost. if anyone can offer advice and or tips i would GREATLY appreciate it!! thanx all!

jzycaramel- Happy Naptural! congrats on your BC- It can be overwhelming at time, however there is plenty of help here.

What procuts are you using?
Are you cowashing?
Adding moisture to your hair?

i haven't washed it since the BC. i apply a leave in conditioner to detangle after i shower. i guess thats cowashing. to add moisture i use 1 part glycerin and 2 parts water in a spray bottle and massage that into my hair

Welcome sis! Happy Birthday n Congrats on the BC!

Is it cold where you are? If it is the glycerin could be sucking the moisture right out of your hair. The issue with dryness could also just be the result of bc'ing. Some people experience excessively dry hair(I think they refer to it as "crab hair" on Nappturality...don't quote me tho). Co washing and deep conditioning is going to be pretty helpful to you. After washing or dcing you need to use something to lock the moisture in your hair. So apply your leave in and then seal it in with whatever oil you prefer (castor oil, coconut oil, almond oil, etc)

HTH! Post a pic...you may have a hair twin on here Smile

Congratulations on your BC! Instead of using glycerin, replace it with one of your conditioner. Your mixed chicks could work. Mix it with water and use it as a spritz when your hair feels dry. HTH
