Happy accident
I was putting my hair up to place in a bonnet for the night and tripped upon this....actually, I like it. Anybody else find any 'dos they like by mistake, happy accident, etc.?

That is really cute....I love accidental styles. My twist updo last week was an accidental style
Re: Happy accident
Yes, I had a happy accident when I was trying to figure out what to do with my hair on sunday because of these distasteful ends after my braid out. It's similar to yours big sis.

Thanks! I had a job interview that day and had worn a French roll, that was kind of accidental too. I wasn't sure that I had enough hair to do that...and found out I did for a messy one, my favorite kind!

Cute! You're able to get more of your edges to "cooperate" then I am! That's why I just roll w/the messy updos!

Thanks! I'd just oiled it, I believe I'm working with 5-6 day hair...somewhere in there. I found that as long as I keep my hair moisturized and stay away from the "moisture-blockers" in my siggy, my hair is very defined on it's own.

Re: Happy accident
Thanks ladies for all your kind words!!
Yes it was a relief and a pleasant surprise for me to have found this style because I was really getting fed up of my relaxed ends (to be frank with you)...lol.
So I will be wearing this style all sorts of ways. Bantu knot out in the front with roll and all sorts of things in my hair. Styling is getting much harder for me now. So this was perfect.
@blondie, right now my hair at the back edges couldn't lay down like yours if I wanted it too....lol

Thank you! When I look at pics from just a couple of months ago, I can't get over how fast it grows! I think I will start to wear more updos, I can put it up at night fluff the bangs in the morning and stick a comb or hair sticks in if I feel like it and I can wear it like that until I get bored! I've never done protective styling, so this is as close as I'm gonna get to it!

I bet we could work it !! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Put you hair in your updo, then take your favorite gel (aloe vera for example) and smooth and brush your edges. Then take a scarf (folded into a long 2-3 rectangle) and tie it firmly around your edges. Wear a bonnet or a larger scarf over the whole head to bed. In the morning your edges will be smooth and your wave pattern will be very defined.
You could even do that on you entire head (smooth the gel up to the "roll", in the front & along the sides). You would just need to wear a scarf firmly on the entire head and the effect would be on the entire head. I would still advise wearing a separate one on the edges (I love a wavy defined edge!)
You have a beautiful wave pattern; there are all kinds of different things you can do to bring it out for style variety. I'll also send you a PM on how to do a twisty-curly wet set.

Thanks to all the ladies for your compliments!
Since I am one of the "style-challenged", I'd appreciate any ideas for updos!
