Getting Frustrated... Empty Getting Frustrated...

Post by Jazzygurll 28th February 2011, 3:49 am

Okay, I know yall are getting tired of my crazy questions, but please bare with me, I'm new to all of this. Ok, so my hair appears to be growing out relaxed. That's the best I can describe it. It's straight, sort of soft, silky like, has the exact same texture as my relaxed hair. It's easy to brush to the back or to the front like relaxed hair. I have never had this texture before. I don't know what to do. I skinned my head in January. Its brush cut length now. Is it possible that my hair underneath my scalp is getting relaxed because I did not neutralize it right while I was relaxed? I know that seems weird, but I heard someone say that. please help cause this looks crazy and I am about to buy a wig. Should I just chop again? I'm so confused... Sad

research Scab Hair... I think that is what you may have... It's for some people the hair that grows in after years of relaxed hair.... check this out~

"scab hair:" a common post relaxer texture change, and attempt to understand the origins of its occurrence.

To date, there is no literature or scientific evidence for or against the hair texture change phenomenon known as scab hair. This being the case, the hair state is not even recognized in modern cosmetology. This should not be surprising though, given that the science of textured hair in general, relaxed or natural, is light-years behind the science of European and Asian hair. Therefore, I submit to you that the absence of a scientific basis for scab hair is not, in and of itself, a mandate against its existence. However, I would be remiss if I neglected the fact that what some newly minted naturals call "scab hair" is really their quick introduction to the natural hair they never knew. Chances are, if you're several years out from your last relaxer-- your texture and pattern are likely settled.

After I Bc'd there was a section of my hair that grew in straight. I was overly fustrated and after several months of scrubching and finger curlling it now blends well with the rest of my hair. Give it sometime to see what happens when your hair gets a little bit longer
