sheamoisture question... Empty sheamoisture question...

I have the Curl Enhancing Smoothie and my hair just doesn't love it. I'm not sure what it is because my hair loves coconut oil so I know that's not it.

Anyway, have any of you tried other products in the line? I was interested in trying the conditioning milks or raw shea line. I'm a college student so I like the cheapness and availability of their products and I don't want to give up on the line just yet

I tried the hair milk (coconut and hibiscus). It's an ok moisturizer, but my hair seems to keep more moisture better when I use the smoothie with water. I'm going to try the raw shea conditioner next.

i use the restorative conditioner as leave in followed by the deep treatment masque to twist. Its AMAZING, but it does have a lot of glycerin in it which is why i have only used it once.

I use the shampoo and conditioner. The milk works better on my daughter's hair. The smoothie works better for dry twists for me.

I so so tried to love the Curl Enhancing Smoothie but it was no go. I tried it on both wet and dry twists and they came out straight and frizzy...I gave my jar away to another curly.

my mom uses the curl enhancing smoothie on my niece's transitioning hair as leave-in and her hair always looks shiny and healthy. the only reason i dont use it is because i hate the smell of coconut and just the smell of that product in general. its supposed to be fragrance free but it smells like fragrance to me. =/

It could be the shea butter. It took me a while to realize that my hair doesn't do well with products that has shea butter at the top of the list, it weighs my hair down.

Sorry the smoothie didn't work well for you, but I absolutely love the deep treatment masque, I used it as a leave in last night and this morning my hair was super soft and moisturized. I maybe would try it again or get one of their other products and if that doesn't work then maybe like Prinsis said your hair may not like shea butter. Good Luck!!

I tried the deep treatment masque. No good. The smell (to me) was overpowering. It did NOT moisturize my hair on its own as a deep treatment. I added olive oil to it and it still just sat on top of my hair.

Then I tried it as a leave in styler for my twists. That didn't work either. Left me with overly fragrant hair that was dry as heck. I used the rest of it as shaving cream....that worked. Laughing

I use the deep treatment masque as a leave-in. I tried the milk, but I didn't like it at all.

I like the smoothie a lot - but I notice it works better for me if my hair is pretty wet. I also notice that it's much like the Kinky Curly Curling Custard, in that it works better for me if I get it rubbed in really good and then just leave my hair alone for 15 minutes or so. Then I follow with a spritz of my water/evoo spritz.

I actually used it today - and I followed it with a bit of the Soft Sheen Curl Activator. I got the same great curls, but they're not as "thick" feeling - which I like too.

A lot of you mentioned using the deep treatment masque as a leave-in, is it meant to be used that way as well? Leaving it on my hair won't hurt it will it?

@Curlista yes it can be left on as a leave in condish or rinsed out it says it on the container so it won't hurt your hair by leaving it on.
