Creams (not butters)
I'm looking for a recipe for a good glycerin free hair cream - something that's water based. I have enough info on butters, oils mixed with butters and so on. My hair does better with water based creams that's a little on the thicker side.
I know when it comes to water, you need an emulsifiers and preservatives which can be dicey, but I'm willing to play around with it for a while.
I did a search, but came up empty (also checked YouTube but everything is butter based). Any links or info would be appreciated!

Re: Creams (not butters)
Hi CarlaAR
I am looking to do the same thing. I have done some research and what I found points to lotions, hair creams and conditioners being made with some of the very same ingredients. There is just a little difference in the emulifiers becausse some are wax heavy and we usually don't want wax in our hair. I've shared this site before, but it is just my favorite blog because of all the real recipes on here. She gives good, back-up with facts, reasons for using certain ingredients and recommends substitutions. She also gives good measurements. Check out the lotion tute she has. I am going to give the link to a cream I have been considering for hair use with a bit of tweaking to the emulifier and changing the sodium lactate for honeyquat.

Thank you for the info! I will have to learn how to measure percentages (used to ounces, etc)....
