Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I'm an H2O girl I have a spray bottle with water and a spray bottle with water, conditioner, and some oils. I have to say that it helps me maintain the moisture that is sucked out during the day and at night. I normally mist my hair 1-2x a day.

Thanks! I will add some of my current creamy conditioner to my spritz today, and I do have coconut oil, so I will use it to seal.Duchess52 wrote:cagebird...I don't think you have to buy a leave in. You could just add some of your regular conditioner.
From what I have read here...not everybody's hair likes shea butter.
Try adding some conditioner to your spritz and give that a try and use coconut oil to seal...Good luck....it's trial and error....

That was a big no, no! My hair was too dry. Now I wet my hair once every day, but to me my hair still looks dry. So I am contemplating wetting my hair twice per day. Once early in the morning, and once in the afternoon?
Could it be that just water isn't enough as your hair still looks dry??
It could very well be. After I add the water I use my shea butter mixture as a sealant. What would you recommend??
No cage bird, you would spritz, use your leave in (or a conditioner that you like as a leave in) and seal with your choice of oil or butter. As mentioned, shea butter doesn't always agree with people and also coconut oil doesn't always agree with people. It's about using a sealant or a combination i.e. shea butter with coconut oil, whathaveyou, whatever works for your hair. Castor oil is also great in maintaining moisture and works great it cold weather, unlike glycerin.

spray, seal ( i find castor oil does the trick in keeping my hair soft and moisturized quite well actually) and tie up at night should be all u need. just un tie and shape in the morning

Afrolicious I fully understand the order to maintain moisture now. Thank you so much for the detailed help.
Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I wet my hair daily because my hair LOVES water. I also use Suave Tropical Coconut as a leave in and my hair is soft all day long. I don't use oil in my hair. I probably should but it seems like what I'm doing is working well, no dryness or breakage. Plus I'm a simple (lazy) person so the less I have to do the better.
