Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
What do you naturals think about wetting your hair daily with water to moisturize your hair? Either under the shower or with a spray bottle whathave you? Such sites and Growafrolong or Kimmaytube are enthusiast on wetting the hair.

I usually mist my hair with water daily, then seal with oil if it feels a little dry. My hair is porous and cant live without water - it soaks it up! I no longer do daily wash-n-gos, which was something I've done for years though, but a light misting is perfect.

It moisturizes especially in the dry winter time. Sealing the moisture with castor oil is just what my hair luvs in this season

I rather use a water based product instead of just plain water...water causes way too much shrinkage and i mostly wear my hair stretched..

I mist my hair once or twice a day with either water, Oyin sprays, Jane Cater leave in with water, or I run my hands through some water and smooth it on my hair. My hair thrives on it, it needs it. I get less breakage when I keep my hair moist with water
Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I'm transitioning and I spray mine twice a day with either aloe vera juice and water or a conditioner mixed with water I also wanted to try top mop maven spritz moisture that she use roux 619 vival mix.

I do a combination of what's been listed here (water+av juice, oyin sprays, or water+condish+oil), but I pretty much wet my hair 2x/day. I have to or my hair will be extra dry. I notice though that if I only use water and seal my hair feels drier so I have to use a water based moisturizer/leave in like Rayray19 mentioned.

I'm going to have to try the JC leave in mixed with water. I have had JC products sitting around for awhile barely used. I tried using the leave in by itself once and my hair felt dry and crunchy. I'll revisit. What do you seal with when you use it like that? I ask because I have some JC Nourish & Shine I was thinking I could seal with or should I just use my trusty EVOO?

I mist mine with very diluted leave-conditioner and seal with oil. It cause major shrinkage but it prevents dryness and breakage as I have learned. My hair loves water.
Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I wet mine every morning. I only do wash and go's but I do them backwards. I use my curl activator gel on dry hair. Then I run it under the shower and shake which activates the curls. Somedays I don't add gel, but I always run my head under the shower.

I mist my hair every morning. In my spritz bottle I have water, coconut oil, castor oil and Infusium23. Da Duchess loves this.

I mist my hair every morning as well. I tried to keep my curls stiff and just mist them every morning so they would swell and retract again. I can go 5/6 days like that before I wash. My hair loooooooves water. When I was relaxed, I practically had to stop, drop, and roll if some water touched my hair.

I mist my hair daily with a mixture of water, tea tree oil and coconut oil. It give me the much needed moisture I need to get through the day. LOL @fleur I'm with you on that, running to the car in the rain with a coat drapped over my head looking like a fool.

Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I have been trying hard to figure out what my hair needs in the moisture department. I use to wet my hair under the faucet 3 times per week. That was a big no, no! My hair was too dry. Now I wet my hair once every day, but my hair still looks dry. So I am contemplating wetting my hair twice per day. Once early in the morning, and once in the afternoon?

Could it be that just water isn't enough as your hair still looks dry??

It could very well be. After I add the water I use my shea butter mixture as a sealant. What would you recommend??
Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
Have you tried spritzing with a mixture of water, a leave-in and some oils? Give it a good shake to mix all the ingredients and ....spritz... My hair loves it.
Just give it a try.

Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I co-wash about 4 or 5 times a week (in the morning shower) but get real lazy on the weekends and just wet it. You would be surprised at how many Naturals don't wet their hair that much. I see nothing wrong with it and my hair comes alive when I wet it. I do seal my ends with coconut oil every morning after I co-wash.

Are you using a leave conditioner in your hair afterwards? Are you deep treating your hair with a moisturizing treatment? Also maybe your water may be hard. If you have a water filter, filter your water and put into a spray bottle and spray your hair. Maybe that may help.

Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
I went to a website and checked my area to see if I have hard water. It said no, but now I don't trust the site. What order should I try this in? Filtered water, then sealant and then the leave in conditioner?? I am really new at this, so I need the basics. I made my own spritz with aloe vera juice and water. Sometimes at night I spray it in and again try to seal it in with my shea butter mixture. Is this good enough, or should I buy a leave in and add it to the mixture? Thanks
Re: Wetting hair daily ( or couple times in the week)
cagebird...I don't think you have to buy a leave in. You could just add some of your regular conditioner.
From what I have read here...not everybody's hair likes shea butter.
Try adding some conditioner to your spritz and give that a try and use coconut oil to seal...Good luck....it's trial and error....

I spritz my hair with a strong tea then moisturize with aloe gro (1.5 parts aloe vera gel/juice and one part distilled water with EOs) twice a day most days. My hair loves moisture. I seal with coconut oil.
