Me too, but curiosity got the best of me and I just ordered the BRBC for my daughter's hair because her hair is really dry and fine. So, I think this will work better on her hair than the AOHC because her hair does not like very heavy, thick products. *Crossing my fingers that it works as well as it has on other people*

I don't think her next sale is going to be until sometime in the Spring. She's usually pretty consistent with the date of the sales so the next one will probably be around April or May.

What is Qhemet AOHC? Well I know the Qhemet brand name but don't know what AOHC stands for? Please enlighten.

Hi, it's the Amla and Olive Heavy Cream. There #1 best selling moisturizer.

So, I got my AOHC and OHHB today.
Stupid question, but which do I use first - the cream or the balm?
I plan to use them alone the first time on washed/conditioned hair w/o using a leave in so I can see how "they" work alone - just don't know which one to use first.

Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today
Thanks for the info. I tried the AOHC when I was newly natural and was not that impressed. I'm about 3 years into my journey and have purchased the Burdock Root Butter Cream and love it.. I will give AOHC another try.

If you already love the BRBC, stick with that. Maybe the AOHC wasn't for you because your hair prefers something lighter?

I usually do (damp hair) cream first, balm second. It feels great, but have never actually considered doing it the other way around! I might try that at next co-wash.

I have been trying to avoid this thread also, but at this point I can't any longer. I am placing an order right now. I hope it works as well with my hair as it seems to work with you ladies.
Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today

Thank you! I used it this morning. I think it's going to take more than one day for me to form an opinion. I washed/conditioned and put in a little KCKT as a leave in. When my hair was damp, I applied the cream and worked it in and then applied the balm a couple minutes later.
I like the curl it gives - but I wish it were a bit more. I'm gonna need to experiment with the wetness of my hair and the amount of product to use. I like that my hair doesn't look as dry--that's a huge plus. But, I think it might be too thick for my hair. I'm gonna see how I like it as the day progresses.

A little goes a long way. If you're too heavy handed it might end up looking and feeling greasy. I only use it as a moisturizer. It doesn't really define my curls. I just use it for long lasting soft hair! If I want my curls define I used Komaza the day after!

I actually mix the heavy cream and the balm together in my hands and apply to my hair. When I use the Heavy cream by itself its usually to baggy my hair overnight and I've used the Olive and Hydrating Balm by itself when I want a really light moisturizer and I don't want my hair to feel weighed down.Play around with both in different ways to see how you like them. Also the AOHC can be used as a prepoo and deep conditioner also.
Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today
@Krazy Koils, I never got baggying! Could you explain how you baggy? Lol.

Six hours after application and my hair still looks way more moisturized than usual - but it also looks and feels a little greasy to me. I'm not sure if that's the Qhemets or the oil I used after to seal. It's the same oil I use every day to seal. I'm thinking that maybe I don't need to seal with the oil if I'm using the cream and the balm. Thoughts?
Also, are any of you using the cream without the balm - or the balm without the cream - just curious.
Edited to add: @Krazy Koils - thank you! That is just what I wanted to know.

Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today
I'm just using the cream! That's enough moisture for me. It has a LOT of oil in it. So if you're sealing with too much oil, it can be over kill. Curlynikki used it without oil, since the oils in the products can act as a sealent as well. But this is your time using it, I think you'll get a hang of it. The first time I used chunks of the stuff, but now I literally dip my fingers in it.
Nikki's better at reviewing things than I am:

And you're hair looks soft, touchable! Like you'd just want to run your hands through your twa all day, lol.

Baggying is a technique used to help put moisture in your hair. You can use any type of conditioner or creamy moisturizer on your hair and place a plastic cap over your hair overnight. When my hair especially the ends feel really dry I apply a little of the AOHC to my hair, twist it up and place a plastic cap over my hair and leave it on overnight. In the morning I remove the twists and fluff my hair and my hair is soft and moisturized :-)
Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today
Thanks for the information! I'll be trying it when my hair feels dry.

Re: Tried Qhemet AOHC today
@yldthng - You may not need an oil to seal if your hair is feeling greasy. The AOHC has castor oil as the first ingredient and is often used to seal by some people. The Balm has Olive oil and Grapeseed oil in it so if you're adding an extra oil it may be too much which is why your hair feels greasy. Try using them without sealing with your everyday oil and see how your hair feels. HTH
