Hair Growing at Different rates
I've been natural for about 2 yrs now and I'm just now realizing that my hair grows longer in some areas. Has anyone else noticed this with their hair?

I have been matural for only eight months, but I noticed the back and the middle of my head grow faster that the sides and front. Weird but true.

I'm glad I'm not alone! My bang area grew 6.5 inches this year. But my back and middle grew 5. I only know because of looking at my colored hair and my natural colored hair. Now if only I could actually retain all that length.

Yep, my crown grows like a weed while the sides grow like a snail moves--slow as all get out. I'm going to pay particular attention to my sides/outer perimeter to track how much it grows. In addition, I will pamper the hair in that area. My sides are coarse and my crown is medium when talking texture/feel. The hair curls differently also--does not help with styling at all.
Re: Hair Growing at Different rates
Im transitioning and I have noticed that my right side grows faster than my left. I notice when I was relaxed that my right side was longer, but I thought it was because my left side was more damaged. Since I am transitioning I have realized that I actually have more new growth on the right side as compared to the left.
Additionally, my sides grow much slower than the rest of my hair and is more coarse.

The hair in my crown grows faster than the rest of my hair. The front grows about an 1/2 inch or more slower than the rest.
