I'm trying to grow my hair, by manipulating it as little as possible and co-washing. But I'm not sure what I should do with it at night, because it's not at the stage where I can do chunky plaits...but when I've just wrapped my hair up and slept on it, it gets more and more compact as the days go by, and detangling becomes a major chore that makes me feel like I'm back at square one before I've even started scratch

Any advice anyone?

You should try banding your hair at night to keep it stretched. There are a ton of videos on Youtube showing how to band natural hair.

I hope this helps.
