Henna and Protein

Since I know henna has a similar binding affinity as protein, I was wondering how often do you ladies that henna use protein, and how long after hennaing do you use it?

I waited 3 months. I don't know about anyone else though. I didn't use anything with the slightest indication of protein in it, not even my Oyin Honey Hemp Conditioner. After I used my henna I went online to curlmart.com and they give a list of products to use with no protein in it (helps for people that are protein sensitive).

After the 3 months I went back to my normal routine. Maybe I'm waiting too long but I would rather wait than to deal with breakage from over protein.
